The aim of this study is to gain more understanding of structural and elemental landscape image in a suburban village. Nowadays, it is well known that suburban villages are likely to be encroached by urbanization. Therefore, this research is focused on how the image of a suburb has been changed, what patterns have been created in residential area, what are the different outcomes for various distances, and what are the changes in types of buildings, at particular village called Doojeong in Pyeongtaek City. When collecting supplemental information, elders in the village have participated in comparisons of traditional and foreign structures. This village shows significant characteristics of such phenomenon. According to the research, there are three noticeable results. First, ironically, the structural patterns of the village is concentric as seen as an urban garden, yet they do not have central function. Second, traditional homes are transformed into more functional structures. The most popular roof design, that accounts for 65 percent of village structures, is a modernized flat roof design. Hanok style (Korean traditional house) is disappearing. Third, due to the construction of massive barn buildings and their monochrome, the beauty of the community and architectural harmony have been obscured.

본 연구의 목적은 교외 마을의 경관 이미지와 조경 구성 요소를 이해하는 방법이다. 우리는 교외 지역이 도시화의 침범을 포함하여 여러 가지 현란한 현상을 가지고 있음을 안다. 조경 구조와 전망을 분석하기 위해 거주지 레이아웃 패턴, 거리에서 바라본 세 가지 시점 및 시골 건물 유형을 조사했다. 역사적 문화적 유산을 찾기 위해 오래된 마을 사람들로부터 구전 된 이야기를 들었다. 두정 마을은 교외 농촌 공동체로서 조경과 구조의 특별한 특징을 보여준다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 세 가지가 있다. 첫째,이 교외 마을의 구조는 이상적인 정원 도시처럼 동심 원형 패턴을 가지고 있지만,이 구조 패턴은 중심 기능이 없다. 둘째, 마을 주택 유형을 4 가지 유형으로 분류했다. 가장 인기있는 주택 중 하나는 평평한 지붕 단일 주택 유형이 65 %로 기능성 건축으로 현지화 된 전통 주택을 의미한다. 셋째, 마을을 둘러싸고있는 시골 건축물은 거대한 건물과 주된 지붕 색 때문에 마을 풍경에 건축 조화가 부족하다.
