Recently, as the 4th industry is going to be prosperous continuously, so the semiconductor industry is expected to grow greatly. In addition, as Korean memory companies are doing a great job in the world, so the interest in the semiconductor industry is also growing in Korea now. Meanwhile, there were ethical scandals in Korea these days. So many companies were in trouble, and there was also criticism toward domestic companies. If we consider this kind of things, many Korean companies are not still executing ethical management. However, ethical management is very important because it can bring competitiveness to companies, and can lead companies to sustainable management. Therefore, this study chose foreign semiconductor equipment companies to analyze and compare their ethical management. Consequently, foreign semiconductor equipment companies were doing an excellent job in ethical management, and there were several common things as well as a distinct feature in each company. Finally, this study suggested implications which can be helpful to ethical management in Korean semiconductor companies.

최근 전 세계적으로 4차 산업의 등장과 함께 반도체산업도 주목을 받고 있다. 현재, 한국은 경제의 심각한 불황에도 불구하고 메모리산업에서 큰 호황을 누리고 있어반도체산업은 국내에서도 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 그리고 최근 국내기업들에서 비윤리적행동들이 발생하여 윤리경영에 대한 관심을 불러일으키고 있다. 또한, 비윤리적 행동으로국내기업들에 대한 신뢰를 추락시키는 결과를 가져오게 되었다. 이와 같은 상황을 보면아직도 많은 국내기업들은 윤리경영의 중요성을 제대로 인식하지 못하고 윤리경영을적극적으로 실천하고 있지 않다는 것을 알 수 있다. 윤리경영을 적극적으로 실천하게되면 우수한 성과를 가져올 수 있다는 사실이 이미 증명이 되어오고 있다. 따라서 지금과같은 불황의 시점에서 기업들은 윤리경영의 적극적 실천으로 기업의 경쟁우위를 가져와성장할 수 있도록 해야만 한다. 나아가 국내기업들도 윤리경영을 적극적으로 실천해야만경쟁력을 가져오게 되고 지속가능한 성장을 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 외국 반도체장비 기업들을 사례연구의 대상으로 삼게 되었다. 그 이유는외국 반도체기업들이 국내 반도체기업들보다 오래전부터 적극적이고 체계적으로윤리경영을 실천하여 기업의 경쟁우위를 유지하고 있어 많은 국내 반도체기업들에시사하는 바가 클 수 있다는 생각 때문이다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서는 국내 반도체기업보다 윤리경영의 측면에서 앞서있는 외국반도체장비 기업들을 대상으로 윤리경영의 실제현황에 대한 비교사례 연구를 진행하고국내 반도체기업들에 줄 수 있는 시사점을 도출하였다.
