The ideal of the world community is becoming a reality for mankind amid globalization where the interdependence and connection of the global village is expanding. Meanwhile, international challenges such as new social conflicts, resource depletion and environmental crises, global terrorism, social polarization, and refugee problems have also increased due to multicultural socialization. Although the United Nations and other global goveranances have coordinated international cooperation for peaceful coexistence, they have not been able to provide a vision beyond the framework of modern national state. For it has often been influenced by the great powers. Therefore, this paper attempts to examine the religious ideal society theory of Rev. Sun Myung Moon as an alternative to the crisis of the world community that has been raised by the trend of the Brexit and Donald Trump elections of the United States in recent years. Although religion has recently been pointed out as a factor of global conflict and terrorism, Religion’s ideal social theory has not only presented a transcendent utopia, but has also played a role in demonstrating and testing the possibility of a new community in human history in relation to the transcendent world. This paper focuses on the world community vision of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the founder of the World Peace and Unification Family Association, who longed for and practiced the ideal of peace through the religious imagination that is not tied to the frame of modern separation of politics and religion. In conclusion, we can see that the cause of the crisis of the present world community is the new isolationism and the nationalism that create new barriers and conflicts, and discover the principles of a new world community in the pacific thought of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, who insisted on eliminating borders and making path of peace. His vision of peaceful world through the elimination of borders and the path of peace is rooted his religious thought from his religious experience of the relationship between God and human beings. It basically presupposes the existence of the other as a partner of love, and sees 'true love' which tries to harmonize with the other, as a principle of existence of man (ideal of creation). Therefore, all boundaries that exclude others and prevent harmony are the products of evil caused by human corruption, and communication beyond the boundary is the ideal of good and the origin of peace. The ideal world of peace, proposed by Rev. Sun Myung Moon through the messages of the elimination of the borders and the peace bridge project, is a world where human conscience and good will freely come and go. International Cross-Joint Marriage, International Peace Highway, Submarine Tunnel, Bering Strait Project, Peace United Nations were part of efforts to realize the ideal of divine peace in the world community by eliminating various boundaries, connecting the blocked areas with bridges, and making the conflict area a peaceful neutral zone. This religious world community vision and practical blueprint of Rev. Sun Myung Moon is characterized by overcoming the order of modern nation represented by the border line critically rather than absoluteizing it, and giving religious value to the representation of ‘the world’. This will give important insights into the quest and debate about the ‘global community’ as an urgent and realistic task for the global community.

지구촌의 상호의존성과 연관성이 확대되는 세계화 경향 속에서 이상적 ‘세계공동체’가 인류 의 현실적 과제로 대두하고 있다. 한편 다문화사회화로 인한 새로운 사회적 갈등, 자원고갈과 환경위기, 글로벌 테러리즘, 사회양극화, 난민문제 등 국제적 난제도 증가했다. 세계의 평화공 존을 위해 국제적 협력을 조율해온 유엔 등이 일정한 역할을 했지만, 강대국의 영향에 좌우되 어 결국 근대국가의 틀을 넘어선 비전을 제시하고 있지 못하고 있다. 그 점에서 본 논문은 최근 브렉시트나 미국의 자국중심주의 추세가 극명하게 노정한 세계공 동체의 위기에 대한 대안으로 문선명 선생의 종교적 이상사회론을 검토하고자 한다. 종교가 최 근 지구촌 분쟁과 갈등의 요인으로 지목되곤 하지만, 종교의 이상사회론은 초월적인 피안의 세 계만이 아니라, 그 초월적 세계와 관련하여 인류역사에서 새로운 공동체의 가능성을 예시하고 실험하는 역할을 해왔기 때문이다. 현대사회의 종교는 여전히 민족, 국가차원에 머물거나 보 편적이고 세계시민적인 이상이 있다 해도 사회적 실험을 통해 그 이상을 현재화할 수 있는 동 력을 상실한 채, 정교분리적인 근대체제에 순응해 있는 듯 보인다. 그러나 종교가 총체적 해답 의 체계라면, 절박한 물음을 제기하는 삶의 자리에서 새로운 삶의 방식과 이상적 사회를 상상 할 수 있는 잠재력을 가진다. 따라서 본 논문은 정교분리의 논리에 매이지 않는 종교적 상상력을 통해 평화이상세계를 염 원하고 실천했던 세계평화통일가정연합의 창시자 문선명 선생의 세계공동체 비전에 주목하 고 그 가능성을 검토하였다. 결론적으로 현 세계공동체의 위기의 원인을 새로운 장벽과 갈등을 만드는 신고립주의, 국가중심주의로 보고, 국경철폐와 평화의 길을 주장한 문선명 선생의 평 화사상에서 그러한 고립주의와 국가주의를 넘어설 수 있는 새로운 세계공동체의 원리를 발견 하였다. 선생의 평화이상세계의 비전은 신과 인간의 사랑의 관계에 대한 그의 깊은 종교적 경험을 통해 타자(상대)의 존재를 전제하고 상대와 화합하고자 하는 ‘참사랑’을 인간의 존재원리(창조 이상)로 보는 근본적 종교사상에 뿌리를 두고 있다. 그에 따르면, 상대를 배제하고 화합을 막는 모든 경계선은 인간의 타락에서 기인한 악의 산물이므로, 경계선을 넘어 소통하는 것이 선의 이상이며 평화의 기원이 된다. 국경선 철폐와 평화의 길을 통해 선생이 제안한 평화이상세계 는 인류의 양심과 선의가 막힘없이 자유롭게 오가며 사랑을 주고받아 수평을 이루는 세계이다. 국제교차교체합동결혼, 국제평화고속도로, 해저터널, 베링해협프로젝트, 평화유엔 등은 각종 경계선을 철폐하고 분쟁지역을 평화적 중립지대로 만들며, 막힌 곳은 다리로 연결하고 평화의 길을 내어 신적 평화의 이상을 세계공동체로 현실화하려는 노력의 일환이었다. 문선명 선생의 이러한 종교적 세계공동체 비전과 실천적 청사진은 국경선으로 상징되는 근 대국가의 질서를 절대화하기보다 비판적으로 극복하며 ‘세계’라는 표상에 종교적 가치를 부여 할 뿐 아니라, 지구촌의 절실한 현실적 과제로서 ‘세계공동체’에 대한 현실적 논의에도 중요한 통찰을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
