It has been only 100 years since film was made, yet the film industry has made sensational growth. While the development and growth mechanism of the film is in progress, the fact is that the acting for film is not able to keep up with the speed of the change that film made. This study is to make an observation of Nihon University in Japan that divides film department into direct, recording, sound, visual theory and film acting. Nihon University has special acting course followed by a curriculum. On the other hand, in Korea, most university focuses on producing or staff centered education rather than acting in the film department. Students who are majored in film should be educated basic film mechanism and basic of acting, for example tone, voice, movement and etc. for at least 4 years according to the curriculum. However, in Korea, those kind of the curriculum is absolutely insufficiency. At Nihon University, they teach Japanese dance. Yet universities in Korea, some teach traditional mask play as folk art for only one semester. Traditional mask play is a synthesis art combining Music, dance, language and acting. If the camera mechanism goes parallel with the traditional mask play, it could be very useful programme to learn a variety of acting basic skills. Universities in Korea should prepare the detailed curriculums for the traditional mask play so that the students comprehend the basic skills through the traditional mask play systematically. Lastly, hoping to affect positive effect on the acting training through this study.

영화는 산업혁명 이후 급속도로 발전한 기계 문명 속에서 할리우드의 스타 시스템을 대두로 하여 최고의 문화 산업 콘텐츠로서 발전을 거듭해왔으며, 우리나라에서도 한 해에 천만 관객을 넘어선 영화가 줄지어 나올 정도로 영화 산업이 발전하고 있으며, 그런 만큼 국민들의 눈높이도 높아져서 다양한 장르 의 영화와 수준 높은 영화를 필요로 한다. 관객에게 친숙하며, 다양한 장르로서 표현되는 영화예술에 있어 중요한 요소로 꼽히고 있는 것이 바로 배우들이라고 할 수 있겠다. 이에 본 논문에서는 배우를 양성하고 교육하고 있는 우리나라 대학 영화학과의 연기 훈련 시스템을 면밀히 분석해보고, 할리우드 배우로 유명한 사나다 히로유키(真田 広之), 칸다 마사 테루(神田 正輝), 사토 류타(佐藤 隆太) 등을 배출해낸 60여년 전통의 니혼대학교[日本大学] 영화학과의 연기 훈련 시스템 을 비교하여 분석해보고자 한다. 이를 통해 매체적 특성을 갖고 있는 영화 연기를 교육 시스템을 구축하 고, 이에 따라 연기에 대해 심도 있는 교육이 이루어지기 바라며, 영화연기 교육의 입지 마련 및 성장에 긍정적인 작용을 할 수 있기를 기대한다.
