A morally mature society is a society that respects and upholds human rights. However, recent cases of human rights abuses such as child abuse have demanded social responsibility and arousal of children's human rights. Human rights education is ‘a conscious effort that allows people to practice responsible actions with an open attitude through the education on human rights, through human rights, and for human rights’. In that respect, I have developed a plan to promote the rights of the child based on the empirical studies such as the literature survey, the survey of the child rights status conducted by the NHRCK(National Human Rights Commission of Korea). The results of this study are as follows. First, the right to life, protection, development, and participation, which are the four rights of the child, must be included in the contents of human rights education. and The educational contents should include the ability to think and judge human rights, the ability to act humanely, and the methodical ability to human rights. second, there should be continuous and broad human rights education. It must be educated to all people throughout the life. Third, The content and method of teaching learning are important for the role of the teacher to enhance the human rights sensitivity of learners, It is necessary to create a human rights friendly learning environment. In addition, the contents of education should be made considering the development stage of the learner and social and cultural context. fourth, it is suggested that the purpose of education should be education that realizes the value of human rights, and at the same time, it should be participatory and practical education through internalization of human rights consciousness. fifth, In terms of policy and institutional aspects, it has been shown that the expansion of financial resources for human rights education and the institutionalization of human rights education are urgent. The recognition of child rights is a mechanism that can simultaneously protect others and my human rights in the community. Therefore, it should be a norm that human beings, both rights entities and obligation holders, must have, and they should be able to form a culture that respects each other's human rights. To this end, it is necessary for all citizens to receive education on human rights and to promote awareness of their rights.

최근의 아동학대 증대 등 아동인권침해사례 증가로 아동인권보호에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이에 아동의 인권을 보호하기 위한 방안으로 인권교육이 대두되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구자는 문헌조사와 아동인권실태조사 및 아동권리인식도 조사 등 실증연구를 토대로 아동인권실태를 알아보고 인권교육의 내용과 방법을 통해 아동권리증진 방안을 도출하였다. 아동권리증진을 위한 인권교육 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동권리협약의 4대 아동권리인 생존권, 보호권, 발달권, 참여권에 대한 내용과 인권능력을 구성하는 요소인 인권적으로 사고하고 판단하는 능력, 인권적으로 행동하는 행위능력이 교육내용에 포함되어야 한다. 둘째, 지속적이고 광범위한 인권교육이 이루어져야 한다. 즉 전 생애에 걸쳐 모든 사람에게 교육되어야 한다. 셋째. 교수학습내용과 방법은 학습자들의 인권감수성을 높일 수 있는 교사의 역할이 중요하며, 인권 친화적 학습 환경을 조성이 필요하다. 또 학습자의 발단단계나 사회, 문화적 맥락을 고려하여 교육내용을 만들어야 한다. 넷째, 교육의 목적은 인권의 가치가 실현될 수 있는 교육이 됨과 동시에 인권의식 내면화를 통한 참여적이고 실천적인 교육이 되어야 한다는 것이 제시되었다. 다섯째. 정책적 제도적 측면에서는 인권교육에 대한 재원확대와 인권교육의 제도화가 절실한 것으로 나타났다. 아동권리인식은 공동체에서 타인과 나의 인권을 동시에 보호할 수 있는 기제이다. 따라서 서로의 인권을 존중하는 문화가 형성되어 궁극적으로 아동인권이 증진되고 공동체구성원 모두의 삶이 존중받고 아름다울 수 있길 바란다.
