[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine whether sports coping strategy can be classified according to personality type and whether psychological skill can applied as an intervention variable. [Method] 226 amateur and professional golfers participated in this study. They are currently active golf players. The results of this research were as follows; [Result] First, the amateur golfer group has more higher level of personality factors associated with negative emotions (eg. ANX, DEP, NON) than semi-professional golfer and professional golfer group. And The personality factors (MAN, WRM) related to activity and positive emotion were found to be higher in the professional golfers group. Secondly, professional golfers showed lower levels of anxiety and superior psychological skills than amateur and semi-professional golfers. Thirdly, professional golfers tend to be problem- oriented coping, and amateurs tend to cope with avoidance. Finally, personality has a direct effect on sports coping, and there are no indirect effects through psychological skills.

[목적] 본 연구의 목적은 골프선수들이 수행과정에서 경험하는 다양한 문제에 대처하는 과정이 성격적 요인에 의 해 구분될 수 있는지, 그리고 심리기술이 중재변인으로 작용할 수 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. [방법] 현재 활동 하고 있는 고등학생 이상의 아마추어 선수 및 프로선수 226명의 자료를 수집하여 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. [결과] 첫째, 불안 및 부정적인 정서와 관련된 성격요인(ANX, DEP, NON)은 아마추어 집단이 높 은 것으로 나타났으며, 활동성 및 긍정적인 정서와 관련된 성격요인(MAN, WRM)은 프로골퍼 집단이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 프로골퍼는 아마추어와 세미프로 골퍼보다 불안은 낮고 심리기술 수준은 우수한 것으로 나타났 다. 셋째, 프로골퍼는 대체적으로 문제중심적 대처 경향을 보였으며, 아마추어는 회피적 대처 경향을 보였다. 넷 째, 성격은 스포츠 대처에 직접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 심리기술을 매개로 한 간접효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다.
