This study analyzes the present situation and expressive characteristics of the digital fashion illustration in order to present a new direction of digital fashion illustration which accepts various digital media and enables free visual expression. Firstly, a representative type of the time concept was identified based on the epistemology of time in religion, philosophy, science, arts through literature review. As a result, the types of the time in each field are classified into four types, namely, linear concept of time, cyclic concept of time, spiral concept of time, fragment concept of time. In order to analyze the characteristics of the temporal expression concept in the digital fashion illustration, a comparative analysis with the digital painting in which various expressions of time concept are presented is carried out. As a result of analysis, in digital painting, all four types of time concept were expressed, but in contrast, digital fashion illustrations showed only three types of linear concept, cyclic concept, fragment concept. This is due to the introduction of digital in a relatively narrow range in digital fashion illustration, unlike digital painting, which can be expressed in various ways through the introduction of active digital. As a result, it was possible for the digital fashion illustration to make a limited visual representation only, hence it was analyzed that it is difficult to use the spiral temporal view in which the new concept of time is created through the change of the physical time. Based on this, it was proposed to express the spiral concept that generates and extends the direction of time by using interactive contents for more diverse time expressions in digital fashion illustration. In this way, if the digital fashion illustration is actively accepted, it will be possible to expand to a broader new area beyond a limited expressive category.

본 연구는 다양한 디지털 매체를 수용하여 자유로운 시각 표현이 가능해진 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션의새로운 방향성을 제시하고자 시간관을 중심으로 그 현황을 분석하고 표현적 특성을 도출하였다. 먼저 문헌고찰을 통하여 종교, 철학, 과학, 예술 분야에서의 시간에 대한 인식론을 바탕으로 시간관의 대표적인 유형을파악하였다. 그 결과 시간이 흐르는 방향성을 중심으로 각 분야에서 나타난 시간관의 유형은 직선적 시간관, 순환적 시간관, 나선형적 시간관, 파편적 시간관 등 총 네 가지 형태로 분류되었다. 그리고 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션에서의 시간관 표현의 특성을 분석하기 위하여, 현재 다양한 시간관의 표현이 이루어지고 있는디지털 회화와의 비교 분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 디지털 회화에서는 앞서 파악한 네 가지 유형의 시간관이 모두 표현되고 있었지만, 이와는 달리 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션은 직선적 시간관, 순환적 시간관, 파편적 시간관 등의 세 가지 유형만이 나타나고 있었다. 이는 적극적인 디지털의 도입을 통해 다양한 표현이 가능한 디지털 회화와는 달리 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션에서는 비교적 좁은 범위에서의 디지털 도입이 이루어지고 있기 때문이었다. 이로 인해 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션은 다소 한정적 형태의 시각적 표현만이 가능하였고, 결과적으로 물리적인 시간의 변경을 통해 새롭게 시간이 창조되는 나선형적 시간관의 활용이 어려운것으로 분석되었다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션에서의 보다 다양한 시간관표현을 위해 인터렉티브 콘텐츠를 활용으로 시간의 방향성을 생성하며 확장하는 나선형적 시간관의 표현을제안하였다. 이와 같이 디지털 패션 일러스트레이션에서 디지털에 대한 적극적인 수용이 이루어진다면 한정적 범주의 표현 영역을 뛰어 넘어 보다 넓은 새로운 영역으로의 확장이 가능할 것이다.
