The purpose of this study is to understand the significance of bowling player in the life of with visual impairment through bowling in order to examine anticipatory socialization, professional socialization, and occupational socialization through life history research and understand the formation process of their professional job. The research target is in his late 30s and is a teacher in the school for the blind located in D Metropolitan City, and he is active in bowling as a bowling player. The data was collected through in-depth interviews with the research participant, and the area analysis and classification analysis among the ethnographic analysis of James P. Spradley(Spradley, 1979) were used for data analysis. The analysis results are as follows: First, the research participant in the process of anticipatory socialization stayed in dormitories of elementary, middle and high schools during the period he was supposed to be loved by his parents, and it was found that his ego to pull through difficulties with his patience and tolerance. Second, he could firmly establish overall understanding and a sense of value as a teacher as well as bowling player through a good deal of his experiences in the process of professional socialization. Third, he realized his position through studying and diverse personal relations in occupational socialization and accumulated know-how through consistent experiences and errors, and searched for research methods. Therefore, he could finally experience the life to attempt various efforts in order to positively achieve fruits.

본 연구의 목적은 시각장애인 볼링선수의 삶 속에서 볼링이 갖는 의미를 이해하여 볼링을 통해 예기사회화, 직업 에로의 사회화, 그리고 직업사회화를 생애사 연구를 통하여 알아보고 그의 직업 전문성의 형성과정을 이해하는 데 있다. 연구 대상자로 선정된 30대 후반의 D광역시에 위치한 D특수학교에서 교사로 재직하고 있으며 볼링선수로의 활동도 활 발하게 하고 있다. 자료수집과정은 연구 참여자를 대상으로 한 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며 자료분석은 James P. Spradley(Spradley, 1979)의 문화기술학적 분석방식 중 영역분석과 분류분석법을 이용하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예기 사회화(Anticipatory Socialization)과정에서의 연구 참여자는 유년기 시절 부모 님의 사랑을 받아야 할 시절 초, 중, 고등학교를 기숙사에서 생활을 하였으며, 끈기와 인내를 통해 어려운 일을 해쳐나가 자아를 찾아가는 과정을 볼 수 있었다. 둘째, 직업에로의 사회화(professional socialization)과정에서의 수많은 경험 을 통하여 볼링선수와 교사로서의 전반적인 이해와 직업에 대한 가치관을 확고히 정립하게 된다. 셋째, 직업사회란 (occupational socialization)에서는 연구 참여자가 학문연구와, 다양한 대인관계를 통하여 나의 위치를 깨닫고, 꾸준 한 경험과 시행착오를 통해 노하우를 쌓으며 스스로에게 생각하고 연구하는 방법을 모색하여 적극적으로 내실을 기하 는 다양한 노력을 시도하고 있는 삶을 경험하게 된다.
