This study added past life before entering such as family factors, school factors, peer factors, and number of past judgment, and behavior change after entering and program satisfaction that have a great impact on recidivism attitude, so examined how it affects recidivism attitude of youth in residential care by gender. As a result, in case of youths protected in Protective Disposition No. 6 Facilities, female youths are younger than male youths, and past punishment experience of female youths is lower than past punishment experience of male youths. Second, as a result of examining a difference of recidivism attitude, program satisfaction, behavior change after entering, family attachment, school life satisfaction, and peer satisfaction that are major variables by gender, all variables except for program satisfaction show a significant difference by gender. Last, as a result of examining what is a factor affecting recidivism attitude by gender, there is a difference between factors affecting recidivism attitude by gender. Gender attachment, program satisfaction, and peer attachment show a statistically significant result in recidivism attitude of male juvenile delinquents, and factors affecting recidivism attitude of female youths are only family attachment and program satisfaction. Like this, although there is a difference between influence factors affecting recidivism attitude of juvenile delinquents by gender, policies or studies on youth in residential care have been depersonalizedly reached up to now. The researcher proposed program and policy of Protective Disposition No. 6 Facilities reflecting the gender perspective.

이 연구는 가족요인, 학교요인, 또래요인, 과거 판결 횟수 등 입소전 과거 생활과 재범태도에 영향을 미칠 가능성이 높은 입소 후 행동변화, 프로그램 만족도를 추가하여 성별에 따라 시설보호비행청소년의 재범태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 6호 처분 위탁시설에 보호되어 있는 청소년들의 경우 여자청소년들은 남자청소년에 비해 연령은 낮고, 과거 처벌 경험도 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째로 성별에 따른 주요변수인 재범태도, 프로그램 만족도, 입소 후 행동변화, 가족애착, 학교생활만족도, 또래애착의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 프로그램 만족도를 제외하고 모든 변인들은 성별에 따른 차이가 유의미하게 나타났다. 마지막으로 성별에 따라 재범태도에 영향을 미치는 요인이 무엇인지 살펴본 결과, 성별에 따라 재범태도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 차이가 나타났다. 남자비행청소년의 재범태도에는 가족애착과 프로그램 만족도, 또래애착이 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 나타냈고, 여자청소년의 재범태도에는 가족애착과 프로그램 만족도만이 유의미한 영향을 나타냈다. 이처럼 성별에 따라 비행청소년의 재범태도에 미치는 영향요인들에 차이가 있음에도 불구하고 현재까지 시설보호비행청소년의 정책이나 연구는 몰성적(gender-blind)으로 이루어지고 있었다. 이에 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 성인지적 관점을 반영한 6호 처분 위탁시설의 프로그램 및 정책을 제안하였다.
