The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of expansion and transformation of the humanities through the case of corrective humanities. Humanities is a study of critical reflection on humanity and the world through the question of "why." However, since the correctional humanities are transformations of humanities, research on them will contribute to solving the problems of extension and transformation of the humanities. The contents of the study are as follows. The concept of humanities is presented. In addition to the concept of Cicero humanities, Kaufmann and Shorris' concept and transformation of humanities are presented. Next, we analyzed the activities of the Asian Forum For Corrections. Finally, the direction and prospect of the correctional humanities are presented. The results of the study are as follows. In order for the expansion and transformation of humanities to be effective, the humanities and the reality of life must be combined. As the demand for local humanities grows, we need to develop related contents. In addition, community therapy programs should be developed. The achievements of science and technology should be utilized in the humanities.

이 연구의 목적은 교정인문학 사례를 통해서 인문학의 확장과 변용의 방향을 모색하는 데 있다. 인문학은 “왜”라는 질문을 통해서 인간과 세계에 대한 비판적 성찰을 하는 학문이다. 그런데 교정인문학은 인문학의 변용이므로 이에 대한 연구는 인문학의 확장과 변용 문제를 해결하는데 기여할 것이다. 연구 내용은 다음과 같다. 인문학의 개념을 제시하였다. 키케로의 인문학의 개념과 함께 카우프만, 쇼리스의 인문학의 정신과 변용 사례를 제시하였다. 다음으로 (사)아시아교정포럼의 활동 사항을 분석하였다. 마지막으로 교정인문학의 방향과 전망을 제시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 인문학의 확장과 변용이 효과를 거두기 위해서는 인문학과 삶의 현장이 접목되어야 한다. 지역인문학에 대한 요구가 커질 것이므로 이와 관련 콘텐츠를 개발해야 한다. 이와 함께 지역사회 치료 프로그램을 개발해야 한다. 과학기술의 성과를 인문학에 활용해야 한다.
