Mammonism and invidualism; these are evils common to all the classes in this society. Humanity and morality have been ignored it caused many social problems. In this situation, whole-person education as an educational way of prevention takes effort core subject-centered. It develops not an emotional aspect but a reasoning knowledge and experience. Recently, growth of emotional knowledge and experience are essential factor for development of creative human resource and harmonious education. Historically some may regard art education create harmonic development. Specially, ballet education is useful as an emotional education in many aspects. Ballet is a performing art corporate music, literature, fine art, light, and costume. Through the ballet education student can achieve development of physical health, artistic emotion, and expression skill. In this research identify the value of ballet education as one of the culture and art education and emotional education. Lastly, research suggest available ballet education program for emotional education.

현대사회는 물질만능주의와 개인주의가 팽배하여 인간의 도덕적 품성과 감수성이 간과되고 이 로 인한 사회적 문제가 야기되고 있다. 이를 예방하기 위한 방편으로 강조되고 있는 전인교육은 주지교과 중심으로 시행되어 이성적인 지식과 경험은 크게 발달시켰으나, 전인을 양성하는 또 다 른 축인 감성의 발달은 간과되어 왔다. 최근 감성교육을 통한 감성적 지식과 경험의 발달은 창의 적인 인재 양성을 위한 중요한 요소가 될 뿐만 아니라 조화로운 전인교육 측면에서도 강조되고 있다. 그동안 인간의 이성과 감성의 조화로운 발달이 가능한 예술교육의 중요성이 논의되어 왔으 며, 그중에서도 감성교육으로서 활용 가능성이 큰 분야로 발레교육을 들 수 있다. 발레는 음악, 문학, 미술, 조명, 의상이 조화를 이룬 종합무대예술로, 발레교육을 통해 학생들은 신체적 측면뿐 만 아니라, 정의적 측면, 특히 예술적 감수성 및 표현성의 발달을 이룰 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연 구는 전인교육을 위한 감성 발달의 도구로서 문화예술교육의 가치를 정의하고, 대표적인 문화예 술교육 중 하나인 발레교육의 감성교육으로서의 가치와 발레교육에서의 바람직한 감성교육적 접 근방법을 제시하고 적용 가능한 프로그램을 제안하였다.
