The purpose of this study was to explore ways of effectively improving the externalized and internalized maladaptive behaviours of adolescents on probation by focusing on their personal strengths and temperament. This study seeks to find ways of promoting subjective well-being and improving the maladaptive behaviours of adolescents on probation. To this end, personal strengths intervention is used based on the standpoint of striving for a positive behaviour state. This study examined the relationships between externalized and internalized maladaptive behaviours of adolescents on probation and analysed the correlations among family strength, school adaptation, ego resilience, and the adolescents’ behavioural problems. The influence of family strength and school adaptation, with ego resilience as a mediator, on behavioural problems was investigated to reveal indirect/direct effects and structural causality among behavioural problems. The survey data were collected using a questionnaire survey administered to adolescents on probation. A total of 307 questionnaires was used for the final analysis. The collected data were analysed with SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 using differential calculus. In conclusion, this study showed that family strength, as the most significant influence on adolescents, has negative correlations with their behavioural problems. This implies that an unhealthy family environment leads adolescents to grow up under great stress. Thus, family strength served as the main factor that leads to these adolescents being socially stigmatized. The estimates of structural paths indicate that a healthy family has a positive influence on ego resilience. However, in this study family interactions appeared to cause behavioral problems, thus showing negative correlations with ego resilience.

이 연구에서는 보호관찰 청소년의 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 주요인으로 가족건강성, 학교적응, 자아탄력성 등을 설명하고, 이들 요인과 문제행동과의 인과적 구조모형을 경험적 자료를 통해 검증하였다. 본 연구는 보호관찰 청소년 307명을 대상으로 SPSS 20.0과 AMOS 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 추정된 모수치의 통계적 유성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보호관찰 청소년들의 가족건강성, 학교적응, 자아탄력성, 문제행동 간의 상관관계는 어떠한가? 둘째, 보호관찰 청소년들의 가족건강성, 학교적응, 자아탄력성은 문제행동에 어떠한 경로로 영향을 미치는가? 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과, 가족건강성, 학교적응, 자아탄력성, 문제행동 간에 서로 유의미한 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 가족건강성, 학교적응, 자아탄력성은 문제행동에 직접적으로 혹은 간접적으로 영행을 미치는 것으로 설정했던 연구모형이 통계적으로 타당한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 대해 본 연구의 시사점 및 향후 연구방향에 대해 논의하였다.
