Anti-Korean sentiment discourse on the relationship between Korea and Japan is currently ongoing. Nevertheless, the process of emerging discontented discourse has not been intensively studied. As a result of examining the emergence of anti-Korean sentiment discourse in the Japanese media, after the global era, the issue of the Japanese Military ‘Sexual Slavery’ began to appear in the media as a whole. Particularly, the starting point of ‘Anti-Korean sentiment’ was the feature story of the March issue of “MagazineBungeishunjū” in 1992, the most influential monthly magazine in Japan, which was composed of content and accusations that sparked hostility and negative feelings toward Korean society including politics, economy and history of Korea with the opening remarks of Japanese intellectuals who said they feel absolutely no need to “apologize” for the problem of Japanese Military ‘Sexual Slavery’. A special article published in the Japanese general monthly magazine as mentioned above was published in the Korean daily newspaper, and this was again published in the Japanese daily newspaper.

한･일 관계에 있어 혐한 담론은 현재진행형이다. 필자는 그동안 집중적으로 다루어지지 않은 혐한 담론이 일본 언론에서 출현한 경위를 살펴보았는데, 글로벌 시대 이후에 일본군 ‘위안부’ 문제가 전면에 노출된 탓에 언론에서 대두되기 시작하였다. 특히, 일본의 최대 유력 종합월간지인 󰡔문예춘추(文藝春秋)󰡕1992년 3월호의 특집대담 기사를 혐한 담론의 도화선으로 볼 수 있으며, 이 기사는 1991년 8월 김학순 할머니가 일본군 ‘위안부’ 피해를 증언한 이후에 일본군 ‘위안부’ 문제가 이슈화되면서 과거의 역사적 사실에 대해 사죄할 필요성을 전혀 못 느낀다는 일본 혐한론자들의 발언을 서두로 하여 한국의 정치･경제･역사 등 한국사회 전반에 대한 반(反)과 혐(嫌) 감정을 분출시키는 내용과 비난으로 구성되어 있었다. 위와 같은 일본의 종합월간지에 실린 특집 기사가 한국 일간지에 실리게 되고, 이것이 다시 일본 일간지에 게재됨으로써 일본 언론에서 현재까지 반복 재생산되어 온 것임을 알 수 있었다.
