유통환경의 변하는 농산물 유통 도매시장 관계자 모두에게 변화를 요구하고 있다. 특히 가 락동 농산물도매시장의 거래량은 해마다 감소하고 있다. 서울의 가락동 농수산물시장과 같은 중앙 도매 시장이 다양한 상품 구색과 물량확보, 대금 정산 측면에서 장점을 가지고 있다. 그러나 시장 내 지체시 간의 증가, 물류시설 부족 등의 원인으로 한국의 농산물 도매시장의 경쟁력을 약화시키고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 농산물 도매시장 법인의 역할은 매우 중요하다. 농산물 도매시장법인은 산지의 개발 및 수집, 경매의 주관 및 정산, 자금제공 및 외상거래, 경매결과의 보고 등이 있다. 즉 농산물 도매시장은 산지개 발을 통한 물량 수집, 수탁, 상장, 경매 및 대금정산, 유통정보 제공 등 도매시장의 핵심적 업무를 수행하 는 운영주체이다. 이러한 청과물 도매시장 법인의 재무특성을 살펴보면, 부채비율은 2005년도 평균 21.4%로 전년대비 9.8%p 상승하였다. 유동비율은 평균 524.8%로 전년대비 감소 했으나, 양호한 수준이 다. 이러한 이유는 농산물 도매업의 업종 성격상 자산이 현금, 보통예금, 정기예금, 매출채권 등의 당좌 자산으로 구성되어 있고, 외상 매출금이 적기 때문이다. 또한 매출액대비 인건비 비율은 높은 편이다. 구 체적으로 매출액의 약 50%를 인건비로 지출하고 있다. 도매시장법인별 운전자금을 살펴보면, 재무건전 성은 전체 52개 법인 중 67.3%(35개 법인)가 자본잠식이며, 46.2 %(24개 법인)가 2년 연속적으로 적자 를 나타내고 있다. 이러한 분석 결과의 시사점은 첫째, 농산물 도매시장 법인들은 매출액대비 인건비의 비율이 높기 때문에 인건비는 수익을 고려하여 지출할 필요성이 있다. 둘째, 총자산회전율을 높일 필요 성이 있다. 셋째, 법인의 영업비용을 절감하는 방안 등을 도입하여 재무구조를 개선할 필요성이 있다고 사료된다.
