The Study on Rating Model of the Social Responsible Investment Fund

Socially Responsible Investment(SRI) is more likely to utilize money to change a society through portfolio screening, shareholder advocacy, community investment for the establishment of sustainable society. In general, corporations strive to make profit and increase the value of their shareholders' investments. The traditional view is that a corporation that meets this goal has a beneficial impact on the community where it is based by creating new jobs and by enhancing its economic welfare. However, there if a growing view among investment professionals that environmental, social and corporate governance(ESG) issues can affect the performance portfolios. In resent years, a growing number of investors have been participating in a phenomenon called socially responsible investing. SRI fund in Korea is not yet developed. But there are different style and themes such as a cooperate governance funds, an environmental funds etc. In first, it is required to lay the infrastructure for growth in SRI funds. And development for SRI funds in Korea is summarized as follows, increasing investors education to create a financial demands, providing guide line to evaluate commodities for long-term investing, managing corporate ethically, meeting sustainability standards.
