The crucial factor that distinguishes human beings from animals is their inherent properties. The attitude and mind of human life are revealed through reflection on moral, ethical and religious values. Such moral, ethical, and religious reflection can be called educational act. The ultimate goal of education is expressed in various ways, but in the first place, the change of behavior can be called 'change' through reflection in the phenomenon of educational repetition. Reflection is accompanied by an act of decisive transformation that occurs in a state of consciousness and shame in the inaccuracy of previous life. At this time, reflections can be raised when presenting reasonable, acceptable moral, ethical, and religious standards for human life. The Bible says that only the word of God turns a man into a new person (1 Peter 1:23). Also, it is only possible for the word of God to be aware of the unjust life and not to return to such a life(1 John 3:9). As we have seen so far, the only personality education promotion law in the world has been enacted, and the study of personality education has been explosively increasing, so we can not easily expect that our personality education will be very successful in the future. In the meantime, despite the fact that the school, the family and the society, and many religious organizations and churches have been carrying out a variety of personality education, why do we get more and more horrific events and even hear the hopeless word "Hell Chosun" and "Gaehanminguk"? Especially in education colleges, students have consistently been taught "Let's be a person before becoming a teacher", but why has the word like "How did that person become a teacher?" heard quite often? The possibility of personality education which is going on in Korean society is concerned with Christian human understanding and possibility of human existence change by dialogue between faith communities. Under this problem consciousness, the virtues of leaders are important in order to beautifully and successfully perform personality education.

인간이 동물과 사물과의 구별 되는 결정적인 요인은 그 본질적인 속성에 있다고 할 수 있다. 인간의 삶에 대한 태도와 마음 등은 도덕적이고 윤리적이며 종교적인 가치관에 대한 반성을 통해서 나타난다. 이러한 도덕적, 윤리적, 종교적 반성은 교육적 행위라고 할 수 있다. 교육의 최종 목적은 다양하게 표현되어지지만 일차적으로는 행동의 변화가 교육적인 반복의 현상 속에 반성을 통한 ‘변화’라고도 할 수 있다. 반성은 이전 삶의 올바르지 않음을 의식하고 부끄러워하면서 생기게 되는 결단적 돌이킴의 행동을 동반하게 된다. 이 때, 반성은 인간 삶에 대한 이해타당하고 수용 가능한 도덕적, 윤리적, 종교적 기준을 제시했을 대에 불러일으킬 수 있다. 성경은 하나님의 말씀만이 사람으로 하여금 돌이켜 새 사람을 입게 한다,(벧전 1:23)고 말씀한다. 또한 올바르지 않은 삶을 의식하고 또 다시 그러한 삶으로 돌아가지 않게 되는 것은 오직 하나님의 말씀으로만 가능하다.(요일 3:9) 이제까지 고찰한 바와 같이 세계 유일의 인성교육진흥법이 제정되었고, 인성교육에 대한 연구가 폭발적으로 증가하는 추세 속에서 앞으로 우리의 인성교육이 매우 성공적으로 잘 이뤄지리라 쉽게 기대할 수 없다. 그동안 학교와 가정과 사회에서 그리고 많은 종교 단체와 교회에서도 다양하게 인성교육을 해오고 있음에도 불구하고 왜 점점 끔찍한 사건이 많아지고 심지어 “헬 조선”이니 “개한민국”이란 절망적인 소리가 들려올까? 특히 교대나 사범대에서 “교사가 되기 전에 사람이 되자.”로 한 결 같이 가르쳐왔는데 “어쩌다 저 사람이 교사가 되었소.”라는 말이 심심찮게 들릴까? 한국 사회에서 진행되고 있는 인성교육의 가능성을 기독교적인 인간이해와 함께 신앙공동체간의 대화로써 인간존재의 변화 가능성에 관심을 갖게 되는 것이다. 이런 문제의식 아래 인성교육이 아름답게 이루어지기 위해서 그리고 성공적인 인성교육을 위해 필요한 지도자들의 덕목이 중요하리라 생각해본다.
