The aim of this paper is to clarify the characteristics of assimilation in Sino-Japanese root compound within the framework of Harmonic Serialism (Prince and Smolensky 1993/2004: 94-95). This paper assumes both /CVC/ and /CVCV/ as input forms based on the richness of the base and analyzes various phonological phenomena appearing from each inputs with restricted gradual derivations. First, for the consonant clusters represented by the assumption of the input /CVC/, we analyzed that manner assimilation and vowel epenthesis occured to obey syllable contact. And we analyzed the place assimilation of consonant clusters which maintain syllable contact as a result of protecting coda condition. Secondly, for the assimilation with the assumption of the input /CVCV/, we analyzed that consonant cluster was generated by gradual deletion process of devoicing of root final vowel and deletion of devoiced vowel.

본고는 조화 도출적 최적성이론(Prince and Smolensky 1993/2004: 94-95)의 틀에서 현대 일본어의 한어 어근 합성어에 나타나는 촉음화의 특징을 분석하였다. 본고는 기저의 풍요성에 의거하여 입력형의 한어 어근으로 /CVC/, /CVCV/를 설정하여 각각의 입력형에 나타나는 다양한 음운현상을 조화 도출적 최적성이론의 제한된 점진적 도출로써 설명하였다. 우선 /CVC/라는 입력형에 나타나는 자음연쇄에 대해서 본고는 음절접촉을 준수하기 위한 조음방법 동화와 모음삽입이 일어났다고 논의하였다. 또한 음절접촉을 준수하는 자음연쇄에 일어나는 동화는 일본어의 말음조건을 준수하기 위한 점진적 위치동화로 분석하였다. 또한 /CVCV/라는 입력형에 대해서 본고는 모음무성화와 무성모음의 삭제라는 점진적 모음삭제를 가정하여 자음연쇄가 생성되고 이후에는 /CVC/에서와 같은 음운현상이 일어난다고 논의하였다.

本研究は調和的直列派生モデル(Prince and Smolensky 1993/2004: 94-95)の枠組みから現代日本語の二字漢語という語形成に現れる促音化を分析することが目的である。本研究は基底の豊饒性に従い、入力形の漢語語根として/CVC/および/CVCV/を両方設定し、それぞれの入力形から現れる音韻現象を制限された漸進的派生から説明した。 まず、/CVC/という入力形から現れる子音連鎖に対して、本研究は音節接触を守るために調音方法の同化と母音挿入が起こると論じた。また、音節接触を守る子音連鎖に起こる促音化を説明するために、末尾子音の条件を守るための漸進的調音位置の同化を仮定して分析を行った。次に、/CVCV/という入力形から現れる促音化を説明するために、本研究は母音無声化と無声母音の削除という漸進的母音削除を仮定し、そこから派生された子音連鎖に対して、/CVC/と同様な音韻現象が起こると論じた。
