Human beings are getting accustomed, as they grow, to the theory of rationality, moderation, and generalization rather than instinct, intuition, sensation or value of individual’s diversity. Although creativity, innovation, and mental challenge are regarded as of significant value, it is a lot of hard work to teach or experience those requisites through school curriculum or social education. The purposes of this article are focusing on importances of the logic of sensation in the field of art education and searching application plan for art education. To develop this argument, this article discusses Francis Bacon’s Painting based on Gilles Deleuze who creates a series of philosophical concepts, each of which relates to a particular aspect of Bacon’s paintings and Illuminates Bacon’s paintings, the nonrational logic of sensation, and the act of painting itself. Based on this theoretical consideration, the next section examines Bacon’s Paintings converge to the subject of sensation, suggests the direction of application and proper way to the art education. In conclusion, this research aims at contribute to establish rationale enable to extend the sensation-based art education and to invigorate the study about the specific educational plan from the viewpoint of a general logic of sensation.

인간은 성장해 감에 따라 본능이나 직관, 감각, 그리고 개인의 다양성보다는 이성과 절제, 상식과 일반화의 원리로 길들여지게 된다. 새로움과 창의성, 도전 정신은 항상 중요한 가치로 여겨지지만 학교나 사회 등의 교육과정에서 이를 가르치거나 체험하게 하는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이다. 미술 표현은 작가에게는 미지의 영역에 대한 탐구이고 감상자에게는 작가가 탐구한 세계와의 직접적 마주침을 통해 자신이 생각지 못했던 새로운 세계로의 확장을 이끌어주는 통로이다. 새로운 독립체(Martin Gayford. 2010)로서 예술 작품이 지닌 힘은 보편화 되어가는 인간의 감각을 일깨워 이 세상에 존재하는 단 하나의 고유한 특성을 지닌 개인으로 존재할 수 있는 길을 열어준다. 본 연구는 인간의 감각과 감각활동에 대한 고찰을 시작으로 감각표현이 어떤 양상을 띠는지, 자신의 감각을 표현하기 위해 작가는 어떤 사고와 과정을 거쳐 미지의 세계로 향하는 길을 찾는 지 프란시스 베이컨(Francis Bacon)의 그림과 질 들뢰즈(Gilles Duleze)의 해석을 기반으로 고찰해 보고자 한다. 그에 이어 감각을 깨우고 연마하는 교육의 중요성에 대한 논의와 함께 감각 표현의 교육적 활용 가능성에 대해 제안해보고자 한다.
