It is more essential than ever that forecasting longterm future trends while multidisciplinary interest in forecasting is on the rise. Therefore, this study intended to predict the change of future clothing trends by 2040. For this study Delphi technique is applied which can increase credibility and objectivity by using collective intelligence. The results were as follows. First, the evaluation of the possibility of the future clothing trend in Korea indicated that the ‘healthcare wear’ is most likely to occur. On the other hand, the trends that were less likely to occur were ‘revitalization of vintage clothing distribution', ‘activation of rental services’, and ‘popularization of virtual reality fashion shows’. Second, as a result of the questionnaire about the social impacts of major trends of future clothing in Korea, ‘healthcare wear’, ‘wearable computer as a daily wear', and ‘activation of the clothing industry for the silver generation’ took a high position. Meanwhile, trends of ‘popularization of virtual reality fashion shows' and ‘activation of vintage clothing distribution’ tend to be somewhat lower than those of other items. Third, the possibility and influence analysis matrix of future clothing trends in Korea provided two groups of the items with high probability of occurrence and influence, and relatively low items. They were classified as ‘technologyfriendly' and ‘environment friendly' lifestyles. In this study, since the key trends derived from the future reports are used as the main words of the questionnaire, there is a concern that the contents could be a general discussion. However, it is anticipated that more detailed results will be obtained if the subdivided items are applied to a situation. By providing these basic data, it is expected that the clothing industry and companies will contribute to setting clear directions and targets for each situation.

미래예측에 관한 다분야의 관심이 고조되고 있는 가운데 의류 분야에서도 중장기적인 미래 패션과 의생활 의 변화에 대한 예측이 그 어느 때 보다도 중요한 시점이다. 본 연구에서는 2040년까지의 중장기적 미래 패션 과 연관 의류산업의 변화를 예측하고자 하였으며 이에 집단의 지성을 활용하여 신뢰성과 객관성을 더할 수 있는 델파이 기법을 활용하였다. 선행된 미래보고서에 나타난 미래 트렌드와 의생활에 관련된 논의에 대해 의류 분야 전문가들의 의견과 판단을 수렴할 수 있었으며 이를 통하여 한국의 미래 의생활의 큰 흐름을 예측 하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선행연구를 토대로 도출한 한국의 미래 의생활 트렌드가 발생할 가능성에 대하여 리커트 5점 척도 평가를 실시한 결과 ‘헬스케어 의류, 신체기능 증진 의류의 활성화’가 가장 발생가능 성이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 한편 발생가능성이 비교적 낮게 평가된 항목은 ‘빈티지 의류 유통의 활성화’, ‘공유 경제 의식 고취로 인한 렌탈 서비스 활성화’, ‘가상현실 패션쇼의 대중화’로 나타났다. 둘째, 한국의 미래 의 생활의 주요 트렌드가 발생했을 경우 사회적으로 미치는 영향력에 대하여 설문을 실시한 결과 가장 큰 영향 력을 가진 것으로 평가된 항목은 ‘헬스케어 의류, 신체기능 증진 의류의 활성화’, ‘일상복의 웨어러블 컴퓨터 화’, ‘실버 세대를 위한 의류산업의 활성화’로 나타났다. 반면 ‘가상현실 패션쇼의 대중화’와 ‘빈티지 의류 유통의 활성화’의 트렌드는 다른 항목에 비해 다소 낮은 경향을 나타내었다. 셋째, 한국의 미래 의생활 트렌 드의 발생가능성과 영향력 분석 매트릭스를 통하여 각 항목들의 분포를 한 눈에 살펴 볼 수 있었으며 최첨단 테크놀로지를 기반으로 하는 ‘기술 친화적’ 의생활로 구분되는 1군집, ‘환경 친화적’ 의생활의 태도를 보이는 2군집으로 구분되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 미래보고서를 중심으로 도출된 핵심동인들을 설문의 주제어로 활용하였기 때문에 내용적인 면에서 다소 개괄적인 논의가 될 우려가 있다. 그러나 세분화된 항목 을 상황에 맞게 적용한다면 보다 밀도 있는 결과가 나올 것으로 예상되며 이러한 기초 자료를 마련함으로서 한국의 의류산업이 각 상황에 맞는 뚜렷한 방향과 목표에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
