This study focused on Woogye Manrok, a kind of miscellaneous records, and its bibliographical feature and textual value, written by Kim Min-jae(金敏材, 1699~1766), who lived King Yeongjo's period. Woogye Manrok has been a little known among academic world. The manuscript of this book, Japanese library 東洋文庫 owns, is the only one existed data. It is hard to find the writer’s information because he is not an eminent figure. For these reasons, this study examines the writer and the bibliographical feature. Based on examination, I tried to find a meaning of Woogye Manrok, written in early 18th century, and its contents. the outcomes are as follows. First, Woogye Manrok was a thoroughly Noron party friendly work. Woogye Manrok describes Noron’s figure's moving stories, but many critical stories contains about the Namin and Soron party. In the political point of view of late Chosun period, it is easily found that how political parties treated each others. Second, it is confirmed Woogye Manrok's feature of criticism on poem. Even if it may not regular criticism on poem, it is identified that Woogye Manrok can categorized in criticism on poem in many aspects. It also described many figures anecdotes, poem-related anecdotes, and poetic prophecy. Third, I confirmed Woogye Manrok's value of source of knowledge. It contains various and minor detailed episodes, and those things may be a trival, but a point of today's view, it can be valuable source of knowledge. Those days's language, foods, customs contained in Woogye Manrok are precious knowledge source of late Chosun period. Although Woogye Manrok was not be widely read and not widely distributed, but it helps to find significances which are miscellaneous records written in late 17c to early 18c, and a little known noblemen's records, especially who lived in countryside.

본고는 영조 연간의 인물인 金敏材(1699-1766)가 남긴 필기잡록류 저술 『愚溪謾錄』의 서지적 특징과 자료적 가치를 소개하고자 하는 목적으로 작성하였다. 그간 이 자료는 학계에 소개된 일이 거의 없다. 현재까지 확인한 바로는 현전하는 실물 자료가 일본 東洋文庫에 소장된 필사본 1종이 유일한 것으로 파악된다. 또한 저자인 김민재 역시 현달한 인물은 아니었기 때문에 그에 대해서도 많은 정보를 찾을 수 없는 실정이다. 이러한 배경을 감안하여 본고에서는 먼저 『우계만록』의 저자 김민재에 대한 검토와 함께 서지적 특징을 검토하고자 한다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 18세기 전반에 창작된 이 필기잡록 저술이 담고 있는 내용은 주로 어떤 것이며, 그 의미는 무엇인지를 확인하고자 하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『우계만록』은 철저하게 노론의 입장에서 노론계 인물들의 미담을 전승하고, 남인과 소론에 대해 비판적인 일화를 수록하였다. 조선후기 당쟁의 흐름 속에서 분당과 이해관계에 따라 반목하는 일이 당연했음을 떠올려본다면 특정한 집단에서 상대 당을 어떻게 인식했는지 그 실체를 확인할 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 둘째, 『우계만록』이 가지는 시화의 기능을 살펴보았다. 비록 이 저술이 본격적인 시화는 아니지만 여러 가지 측면에서 시화의 기능을 담지하고 있음을 확인하였다. 인물의 일화를 중심으로 서술하는 가운데 시와 관련한 逸話를 소개하거나 詩讖에 주목했음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 『우계만록』의 지식 정보원으로서의 가치를 살펴보았다. 다양하고 자질구레한 기록들을 담고 있는 필기잡록은 당대에 하찮은 기록이었을 수 있으나, 오늘날의 관점에서 보면 소중한 정보원이 되는 경우가 많다. 『우계만록』에 실린 당대의 어학·음식·풍속 등에 관한 기록 등은 오늘날 지식 정보원으로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 비록 이 저술이 널리 읽히고 유통된 것은 아니지만, 17세기 후반에서 18세기 초반 사이에 창작된 필기잡록류 저술, 그 가운데에서도 지방의 閑職에만 머물거나 크게 현달하지 못한 사대부들의 기록을 여실하게 보여준다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
