This study reviewed about the various theories and therapeutic approaches related to sexual offense in progress until recently, for the establishment of sex offender treatment direction of correctional facilities in domestic. The theory that explanation of sexual offending have generally been replaced by multi-causal or eclectic integrated factor from the initial mono-causal. In the Sex Offender Treatment Approaches and models, it has primarily followed adaptations of the Relapse Prevention Model, Self- Regulation Model, Risk/Needs/Responsivity Model, and Good lives Model since the sex offender treatment was started. Complementary strengths and problems of those approaches, the Good Lives Model of sex offender rehabilitation and Self- Regulation Model of the offence process have recently been integrated therefore, it is offering a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation of sex offenders. Recently started several years ago sex offender treatment in correctional facilities of Korea have a lot of changed in a short period of time the system and content. It needs to consider sufficiently about the content being offered by theories and empirical evidence in sex offender treatment approach until recently been conducted in order to establish a top-directional well in correctional facilities.

본 연구는 국내 교정시설에서의 성범죄자 치료 방향성 정립을 위해 최근까지 진행되고 있는 성범죄와 관련한 다양한 이론과 치료접근에 대해 개관하였다. 성범죄를 설명하는 이론은 초기 단일요인이론에서 다중요인이나 절충적 통합요인으로 변화되고 있다. 성범죄자 치료접근 방향과 모델에 있어서도 성범죄자 치료가 시작된 이래 최근까지 주요하게 사용되었던 재발방지모델, 자기조절모델, 위험성/욕구/반응성 모델, 좋은 삶 모델 접근들에서의 장점과 문제점을 보완하여 근래에는 성범죄자 사회복귀에 대한 좋은 삶 모델과 범죄과정에 대한 자기조절모델이 통합되어 성범죄자 재활에 대한 종합적인 접근방법을 제시하고 있다. 최근 몇 년 전부터 시작된 국내 교정시설에서 성범죄자 치료는 짧은 기간에 체계와 내용에서 많은 변화가 있었다. 교정시설에서의 성범죄자 치료가 방향성을 잘 확립해가기 위해서는 최근까지 진행되어진 성범죄자 치료접근에서의 이론과 경험적 근거들에서 제시하고 있는 내용에 대해 충분히 고려해야 할 필요성이 있다.
