This study aims to systemically and scientifically figure out factors affecting voting behaviors during the Republic of Korea’s 20th legislative election on April 13th, 2016 by analyzing 600 answered questionnaires. Among demographic and social variables, age, academic background, income and political view differently affect voters in choosing a candidate and changing their mind between political supporter groups. Among vote decision factors, candidate and media meaningfully differently affect voters. There are meaningful differences in awareness of how much national issues affect voters between political supporter groups. The national issues include judgment of the current administration, conflict over candidate nomination of the Saenuri Party, improper utterance by Saenuri Party members and candidate nomination process, news on North Korea’s test launch of new missile type and news on 13 North Korean restaurant workers’ defection. Among Jeju local issues, discussion on the need for changing incumbent lawmakers, controversy over utilization of the reputation of Won Heeryong and controversy over the indemnity claim for the Jeju Naval Base differently affect voters between political supporter groups.

본 연구는 2016년 4월 13일 실시된 제20대 국회의원 선거에서 유권자 투표행태에 영향을 미친 요인을 체계적이고 과학적으로 규명하기 위해 이뤄졌다. 제주지역 유권자 600 명을 대상으로 연구한 결과, 투표후보 선택이나 지지후보 변경에 있어 인구통계･사회학적 특성 중 연령, 학력, 소득, 그리고 정치적 성향의 변인은 투표후보 선택에서 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 투표행태에 영향을 미친 요인에 대한 검증 결과에서는 ‘후보자 요인’과 ‘미디어 요인’에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 중앙/지역이슈에 있어 투표후보별 유권자 집단 간 영향인식 차이 검증에서는 ‘현 정부 심판론’, ‘새누리당 공천 갈등’, ‘새 누리당 막말논란 및 옥새파동’, ‘북한 신형 미사일 발사 뉴스’, ‘해외북한식당 종업원 13명의 입국소식’에서 유의미한 차이가 확인되었다. 지역이슈에서는 ‘제주도 현역의원 교체론’, ‘원희룡 마케팅 논란’, ‘해군기지 구상권 청구 논란’에서 차이가 검증되었다.
