This study is to investigate occupational socialization of golf instructors and provide fundamental information on the process of growing as an instructor in driving range using a qualitative research method. For accomplishing the goals, 6 golf instructors with less than a year of instructing experience were selected as the research participants and the information was collected through literature investigations, in-depth interviews and participant observation. In result, the professionalization process as a golf instructor was, first of all, 1)entering the golf industry, personal reasons 2)occupational meaning, and second, body-structural experiences were 1)physical satisfaction and self-development and 2)lack of communicability. Third, emotional and environmental experiences were classified into factors such as 1)happiness 2)change in negative emotion. Fourth, social experiences were 1)lack of educational program 2)foundation of instructional philosophy. And these factors show that the process of making constant self-development and educational efforts is critical for building expertise.

본 연구는 질적 연구 방법을 이용하여 골프지도자의 직업 사회와를 탐색하고 골프연습장에 취업을 하여 지도자 로서 성장하는 과정에 대한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 1년 미만의 지도경력 을 갖고 있는 6명의 골프지도자를 연구 참여자로 선정하였으며, 문헌조사, 심층면담, 참여관찰을 통하여 자료를 수집하 였다. 그 결과 첫 번째, 골프지도자로서의 직업화 형성과정은 1) 골프입문, 개인적 요인 2) 직업적 의미로 제시되었으며, 두 번째 신체 구조적경험은 1) 신체적 만족감 및 자기개발 2) 전달력 부족으로 설정되어졌다. 세 번째, 정서 및 환경적 체험은 1)행복 2)부정적정서 변화 등의 요인으로 분류되었다. 네 번째, 사회적 체험으로는 1)교육 프로그램부재, 2)지 도철학의 정립 등의 요인으로 각각 제시되었다. 그리고 이러한 요소들은 부단한 자기개발과 교육 차원에서의 노력의 과 정이 전문성을 형성해나가는 데 매우 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있다.
