Established in May 2014, Hakampo banding station in Taeanhaean National park has been banded landbirds in migration season to understand status of migrants and arrival pattern of migratory population. Taeanhaean National Park is one of the important stopover sites for migratory passerines which migrate on East-Asian countries: therefore, this area is suitable to survey the migration ecology of birds passing through western coastal area of Korea. We banded a total of 81 species 3,244 individuals using mist-nets in Hakampo during spring of 2014 ~ autumn of 2015, and 256 individuals of 25 species are recaptured. The most abundant species were the Yellow-throated Bunting Emberiza elegans, the Great Tit Parus major, the Black-faced Bunting E. spodocephala, the Vinous-throated Parrotbill Paradoxornis webbianus, the Rustic Bunting E. rustica. Family Emberizidae took more than 50% of the total banded birds. Long-term banding results on numbers, species, arrival dates and trends will be a vital ingredient to clarify migratory strategy and behaviors on the East-Asian flyway.

철새연구센터에서는 2014년 5월, 국내 육상권역의 첫 상시 가락지부착장소로서 태안해안국립공원의 학암포 일대에 출장소를 개소하고 매년 이동성 소형 조류를 대상으로 가락지부착조사를 실시하고 있다. 출장소가 위치한 태안해안국립공원은 동아시아를 이동하는 조류들의 중간기착지 중 하나로서, 국내 서해안을 통과하는 철새의 이동현 황을 파악할 수 있는 장소이다. 본 연구에서는 2014년 5월부터 2015년 12월까지 태안해안국립공원 학암포 일대에 새그물(mist-net)을 설치하여 포획된 총 81종 3,244개체를 대상으로 가락지를 부착하였으며, 이 중 25종 256개체가 총 410회 재포획되었다. 전체 우점종은 노랑턱멧새 Emberiza elegans, 박새 Parus major, 촉새 E. spodocephala, 붉 은머리오목눈이 Paradoxornis webbianus, 쑥새 E. rustica 순이었으며, 전체 포획된 개체의 50% 이상이 멧새과 (Emberizidae)로 확인되었다. 향후 해당 일대에 도래하는 철새의 종류와 도래시기 등의 정밀한 파악을 위해서는 지 속적인 연간자료 축적이 필요할 것으로 판단되며, 앞으로도 상시 가락지부착조사를 통해 조류생태 변화 모니터링을 지속적으로 수행할 계획이다.
