The traditional local folk song Yangsando-taryung, which is discovered in Hwasoon, Jeonra Province, has been perceived as the traditional local folk song arised from Jeonra Province because of its regional distribution. The author noticed that the Yangando-taryoung was made of typical musical language of Gyeonggi Province and had scattered regional distribution different from typical working-song's, therefore the author became doubtful about the existing hypothesis and re-examined the true genesis of this piece. In this research, considering the playful text which is different from typical work- song, musical idiom that is made of musical language of Gyeonggi Province, scattered regional distribution whose center is around the western part of Han penninsular, its function as play-song, its association with the Sadangpae sori's, we verified that Yangsando-taryung is transmitted from “Yangsando”, which is one of the favored pieces of the Sadangpae, the typical wandering performer's group. The Sadangpae sori Yangsando is related with Gyeonggi popular folk song Yangsando in the tone of the song. Therefore, it can be maintained that this paper made an genuine opportunity for measuring the chronological order in musical sense of Sadangpae Sori and popular folk song Yangsando.

본고는 전라도 화순을 중심으로 전승되고 있는 향토민요 양산도타령의 유래를 살펴본 글이다. 이 양 산도타령은 화순에서 생성 및 전래되고 있는 민요로 인식되어 왔다. 그런데 이 곡은 여느 전라도 향토 민요와는 달리 화순에서 경기도에 이르는 넓은 지역에 산재되어 있고, 그 음악의 짜임새도 경기음악어 법으로 되어있다. 그래서 필자는 이 곡이 화순에서 발생했다는 기존의 견해를 재검토할 필요가 있다고 생각하였다. 위와 같은 이유로 위의 곡을 재검토한 결과, 양산도타령은 여느 노동요와 달리 유희적 성격이 강한 사 설로 된 점, 경기음악어법으로 음악이 이루어진 점, 한반도 서부를 중심으로 산재된 분포 양상, 유희요적 기능이 나타나는 점, 일련의 사당패소리들과 함께 전창된 사실이 확인된 점을 근거로 미루어볼 때, 과거 사당패 레퍼토리 중 하나였던 ‘양산도’가 전파된 소리로 판단된다. 이외에 사당패소리 양산도는 동명의 현행 경기 창민요 양산도와 유사하여 이 두 곡도 음악적으로 서로 밀접한 관련이 있다고 본다.
