This study aims at the right understanding of “Yuhwanggok”(‘維皇曲’), a piece of court music, as it is inherited by the National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts. Researchers think that some portion of “Pungipsong” was adopted and rearranged to be “Yuhwanggok,” while Sejongsillok(『世宗實錄』) says that “Yuhwanggok” was performed in the style of “Pungipsong”(‘風入松’). Being interested in that point, this study analyzed the structure of “Pungipsong” and compared it with that of “Yuhwanggok”. After that it is figured out that there was no rearrangement, which means “Yuhwanggok” is purely and simply taken from “Pungipsong”. It has the same melody as that of “Pungipsong” but its rhythm and arrangement of the bag(박) are different. It can be concluded that “Yuhwanggok” keeps a portion of “Pungipsong,” a piece of goryeogayo(高麗歌謠), almost intact.

이 글은 현재 국립국악원에서 전승하고 있는 궁중음악 가운데 ‘유황곡’의 올바른 이해를 위해서 시도된 논문이다. 『세종실록』에 유황곡은 풍입송조로 연주했다고 기록되었으나 기존 연구자들은 풍입송 가락의 일부분을 드러내서 순서도 앞뒤를 바꾸어 재구성한 형태라고 인식해 왔다. 이에 문제를 제기하여 풍입송을 분석하고 구조를 파악한 다음 유황곡과 비교한 결과, 유황곡은 풍입송을 재구성했다기보다 일부분의 가락을 그대로 드러낸 형식임을 발견할 수 있었다. 아울러 선율은 풍입송을 그대로 따랐지만, 장단형과 박의 위치는 풍입송과 다른 성격임을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로 유황곡 선율 속에는 고려가요 풍입송조가 내포된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
