Nowadays, the importance of the vessel traffic service is emphasized by diversification of the vessels to be controlled, enlargement of the vessel, and increase of traffic flow. The purpose of this study is to assessment of VTS environment by measuring of physical factors such as illumination, electro – magnetic wave, noise level and so on. The workposture of VTSO was recorded using digital camcorder and then these pictures were evaluated though the ergonomic tools; RULA. The surveys of discomfort of body and quality of air, and safisfaction of work environment were conducted by the 5 point scale. Results of this study, the work load of VTS environment could be reduced, and satisfaction of VTSO could be improved at the workplace.

관제대상 선박의 다양화, 대형화, 교통 흐름의 다변화 등으로 인해 관제 업무의중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 관제사의 업무부하 4가지 요인 중 물리적 환경에 초점을 두고 해상교통관제센터(부산항, 부산 신항, 울산항, 목포항, 통영연안, 진도연안)에 대한 관제환경 평가를 수행하였다. 조도, 전자파, 소음, 온도/습도그리고 업무공간에 대한 분석과 RULA를 이용한 작업자세 평가 및 설문조사(신체불편도, 사무환경만족도, 공기질 불편도)를 실시하였다. 이를 통한 결과를 분석하여 선박교통관제 환경의 개선을 위한 기초연구를 수행하였다.
