For the foregoing, this study classified 107 Korean researches related to sustainable development published from 2005 to January 2016,and drew out the definitions of SD. In researches related to SD, SD is defined as balanced and equal development considering capacities of environment, society, and economy. Because the notion of development is dominated by the principle of economic-interest-first, fundamental pursuits of SD can be seen as sustainable economic development. In this approach of SD, there are still oppositions and conflicts between sustain ability and development. And without solving those conflicts, it is difficult to achieve SD. To solve the conflicts between sustain ability and development, we have to abstain from man-oriented world views and pursue for respect, harmony and balance in nature-centered-values.
