This paper, the last internationally in connection with e-Navigation being discussed, introduce for “The Korean e-Navigation service core technology development” and present the technical elements necessary for the core technology. Korean e-Navigation services use LTE-M on the basis of the standard data exchange and monitoring equipment combined with carious sensors, provide information to ship operators, vessel traffic service center, shipping company, coast guard etc,. These services prevent marine accidents in advance and immediately provide service to the search & rescue. Also the small ship and fishing boat support safety navigation to provide the latest electronic chart live update, weather information, other marin safety information. The Korean e-Navigation services will be made in the design of user-friendly and need to study of the new maritime transportation environment.

본 논문은 최근 국제적으로 논의되고 있는 e-Navigation과 관련하여, 해양수산부 주도하에 진행되고 있는 한국형 e-Navigation 구축 사업의 핵심과제인 “한국형 e-Navigation 서비스 핵심기술 개발”에 대해서 소개하였으며, 또한 한국형 e-Navigation 서비스 핵심기술 연구를 위해서 필요한 기술적 요소를 제시하였다. 한국형 e-Navigation 서비스는 초고속 해상무선통신망(LTE-M)의 통신 인프라를 이용하여 표준화된 데이터 교환 및 각종 센서들과 결합된 모니터링 설비를 바탕으로 선박운항자, 관제실, 해운선사, 해양경비안전서, 기타 해양 유관기관 등에 정보를 제공한다. 이러한 서비스는 해양사고를 사전에 방지하고, 해양사고 발생 시 즉시 구조 지원을 할 수 있도록 서비스를 제공하게 된다. 이러한 한국형 e-Navigation 서비스는 사용자가 쉽고, 실질적인 도움이 되도록 사용자 중심의 설계로 이루어져야 하며, 새로운 해상교통환경 변화에 대한 후속적인 연구가 지속적으로 필요하다.
