This research aims to explore the clues of ethical leadership with regarding Giki, Donghak’s ontological foundation. The goals of my efforts are two-folded: firstly, I try to identify the clues of ethical leadership from the perspective of Giki, and consider the modernized implication of ethical leadership based on Giki ontology. Massages of ethical leadership anchored in Giki’s monism are ‘Win-Win’ and ‘Change’. Win-Win principal has been originated from organic relations of any living objects, and the leadership would be a methodology by which Win-Win can be realized. So, the ethical leader -ship can incorporate ethical universality and timely specialty. The Giki’s ethical leadership can effectively suppress the vicious circle of distortion, and stimulate Win-Win corporation. To do so, whole members of Donghak society should share the team spirit and try to find efficient communication channel to the outer society. Also, the solution pursuing the ‘Change’ should be based on ‘Win-Win’ corpo -ration rather than ‘Win-Lose’ conflict.

본 연구의 목적은, 동학의 존재론적 토양인 지기가 어떤 원리와 방법을 통해 오늘날 우리 사회에 적용 가능한 윤리적 리더십으로 접목될 수 있는가의 고찰에 있다. 이를 위한 본 연구의 핵심 내용은, 첫째, 지기의 관점에서 윤리적 리더십의 단초가 어떻게 마련될 수 있는지를 살피고, 둘째, 이에 따라 지기 존재론에 기반을 둔 윤리적 리더십으로부터 도출될 수 있는 현대적 의미는 무엇일 수 있는지에 대해서이다. 지기 일원론의 윤리적 리더십이 던지는 화두는 상생과 변화이다. 상생의 원리는 개별 존재자들 간의 유기적 관련성으로부터 필연적으로 도출되며, 이를 현실화하기 위한 구체적 방법론은 변화를 키워드로 갖는 리더십에서 찾을 수 있다. 이로부터 지기의 윤리적 리더십은 윤리적 보편성과 시의적 특수성을 모두 담보하게 된다. 지기의 윤리적 리더십은 우리 사회에서 차이가 차별로 왜곡되는 악순환을 억제하고 상생의 삶을 촉진하는 노력에 효과적으로 기능할 수 있다. 이를 위해, 우선 내부 에너지를 집약하고, 외부와의 소통을 위한 효율적 매개 수단을 강구하는 작업이 선행될 필요가 있다. 단, 변화를 추동해가는 모든 내ㆍ외부적 문제 해결 방안은 상대를 무너뜨리려는 대결 의식이 아닌, 상생의 원칙 안에서 모색되어야 한다.
