The purpose of this paper is to investigate codes shown in 『Jeon Bongjun who goes to Seoul』 written by poet An Dohyun. The subjects of this research are the poems published in 『Jeon Bongjun who goes to Seoul』. The main works are , , , , , and his debut . We aimed to reveal the codes administering on these works through research process. The unconscious meaning given to certain target of ‘code’ is a way to recognize the information, experience and emotion combine to imprint was noted to regulate process of thought. The results of this study showed that the codes of 『Jeon Bongjun who goes to Seoul』 were ‘division’ and ‘conflict’, and ‘integration’ and ‘reconciliation’. They were created on the basis of Korea’s 1980s. In the modern history of Korea, the 1980s accounts for considerably. In this point of view, 1980s were represented by ‘division and conflict’. That recognition of this reality for 1980s was aim to ‘integration and reconciliation’. This was characteristic to be represented in the form of ‘regression’. This attitude of the poet An Dohyun was recognized to do together with the concept of ‘Guisooseong(nature of returning)’ shown on poetics of Shin Dongyeop.

이 논문의 목적은 안도현 시인의 『서울로 가는 전봉준』에 나타난 코드를 규명하는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 시집 『서울로 가는 전봉준』에 실린 작품들이다. 주요 작품들은 <사월>, <초소에서>, <낙동강>, <젊은 북한 시인에게 1>, <부여 기행> 등과 시인의 데뷔작인 <서울로 가는 전봉준>이다. 연구 과정에서 이들 작품에 투여된 코드를 밝히고자 하였다. 일정한 대상에 부여하는 무의식적인 의미인 ‘코드’는 정보를 인식하는 방식이며, 경험과 감정이 결합되어 이루어진 각인은 사고의 과정을 규정한다는 점에 주목하였다. 연구의 결과 『서울로 가는 전봉준』의 코드는 ‘분열’과 ‘대립’, 그리고 ‘통합’과 ‘화해’였다. 이들은 한국의 1980년대라는 토대 위에서 생성된 것이었다. 한국 현대사에서 1980년대가 차지하는 비중이 적지 않은 점에서 본다면, 안도현의 시에서 1980년대는 ‘분열과 대립’으로 대표되었다. 1980년대에 대한 이러한 현실 인식은 ‘통합과 화해’를 지향하고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 이것은 ‘회귀’의 형태로 표현된 점이 특징이었다. 안도현 시인이 표현하고 있는 이런 태도는 신동엽의 시론에서 보여준 ‘귀수성(歸數性)’의 개념과도 맥을 같이 하는 것임을 알 수 있었다.
