All issues of anarchistic freedom have significance in relation to the meanings of local community, and so the scale of freedom is relatively large than the libertarian freedom and, in result, holds its own unique difference. That is, the anarchism considers freedom as positive and socialized freedom but not as a passive and negative way. In this article, by the views of the anarchistic freedom I want critically to search the meaning and limits of free education of the existing alternative school in Korea. In chapter one, I reconsider the meaning of freedom of alternative school in Korea, in chapter two and three, I examine the communal freedom of anarchism and the present situation of free education of alternative schools. And then in chapter four, I point out the relation of anarchistic views and college education administration, lastly, in chapter five and six I confirm the re-constructive meaning of anarchistic freedom. Although the free education of alternative school meets in many parts the anarchistic free education, it does not give much attention to the positive relationship of school and community. Since the advocates of existing alternative school consider such relationship, they still have limits to present strongly and immediately it. According to anarchistic views of free education, there is no alternative school without community. Anarchists insist that school and community must be one. While Freedom of existing alternative school is limited in views of school-community itself, anarchistic freedom is sort of socialized freedom in which freedom is extended to the commune and federates all different communities. Therefore we need a new understanding of freedom so that the problems of the current educational system and even alternative schools as well are rightly solved, by which we gradually succeed to the aim of free society.

아나키즘에서의 자유에 대한 물음은 항상 공동체를 전제로 한 것이기 때문에 자유의 외연이 넓을 뿐만 아니라 그 질적 의미도 자유주의자들의 자유 개념과 많은 차이를 갖는다. 즉 개인의 자유에 있어 소극적이고 부 정적인 차원을 벗어나 적극적이고 사회화된 자유를 주장한다. 이 글에서 는 국내 대안학교에서의 자유교육의 의미와 한계를 아나키즘적 자유를 통 해 비판적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 1장에서는 대안학교에서의 자유의 의미를 되새겨보고, 2장에서는 아나 키즘에서의 공동체적 자유를 살펴보고, 3장에서는 국내 대안학교에서의 자유교육의 현황을 점검하며, 4장에서는 아나키즘적 자유가 대학교육 정 책과 어떻게 관련되는가를 지적한 뒤 5장과 6장에서는 자유의 재구조화와 그 의미를 확인하고자 한다. 대안학교의 자유교육이 많은 부분 아나키즘에 입각한 자유교육과 일치 하기는 하지만, 학교를 공동체와 연결시키고자 하는데 있어 의식은 약한 편이다. 즉 국내 대안학교가 지역공동체와의 관계 맺기를 중요 이슈로 삼 고 있긴 해도 그 관계를 직접적이고 강하게 나타내지 못하는 데 문제가 있다. 아나키즘교육의 입장에서 학교 없는 공동체, 공동체 없는 학교를 상상할 수가 없다. 학교공동체를 넘어서 학교와 마을이 하나가 된 교육커 뮤니티의 중요성을 아나키즘에서는 주장한다. 한편 대안학교에서 주장하는 자유가 학교공동체에서 한정되고 좁은 의 미에서의 교육의 자유를 주장한다면 아나키즘교육론에서 주장하는 자유는 사회화된 자유, 즉 학교 울타리를 벗어나 지역 공동체의 자유의식을 강조하고 나아가 이러한 공동체들의 연대를 주장하는 식으로 그 자유의 외연 을 넓히고자한다 대안학교의 . 자유교육이 제도권 교육에서 벗어나는 수준 이 아니라 아나키즘에서 말하는 자유사회로 가기 위한 역할을 하기 위해 서는 자유에 대한 이해를 확대 해석할 필요가 있음을 밝히고자 한다.
