The Correlation between Type of Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the organizational effectiveness due to type of leadership within ship company organization. The data were collected by questionnaire research through mail or interview with the insured. The analysis was carried to 188 samples for the insured by using SAS statistical package. Statistical methods such as factor analysis, cluster analysis, analysis of variance, simple frequency analysis were used to test the research questions. The results of this study were as follows; First, before the test of research questions performed it cluster analysis by using the factor score that bring out come of factor analysis to type of leadership. The type of leadership has 3 groups, that is, transformational leadership, transactional leadership and non-transformational & non-transactional leadership. Second, the hypothesis test show that the type of leadership are significantly different in organizational effectiveness. The highest organizational effectiveness exist in the type of transformational leadership and the lowest organizational effectiveness exist in the type of non-transformational & non-transactional leadership.
