This article inquires whether the change in the exchange rates valid in the changes of the international accounts. It is then followed by a new international accounts equation. Especially for Korea, it was inquired whether it is possible for it to be adjusted according to the changes in the exchange rate. As a result, it was unable to say that the changes in the exchange rate adjust it. One of the reason is that the probability of the changes in the prices of commodities exceeds the probability of the changes in the exchange rate. This is a consequence followed by a excessive supply of a currency. The second is the importance of the capital income and expenditure on free pricing. In other words, it is possible that the exchange rate could be effected by the capital. The third is the intensifying phenomenon of trading deficit of Japan. Therefore, although exchange rate adjustment and policy cooperations are carried out to readjust this but these would not reform the imbalance of the present. A new international account equation was made under the judgement of it would somewhat, only through more judicious accommodation of organization, reform the imbalance. As a solution, we have experimented on the extending model by adding new variable m relating to import disposition and variable x for export disposition.

본 연구에서는 먼저 환율의 변동이 경상수지조정에 유효하였는지를 고찰한 후 새로운 경상수지방정식을 제시하였다. 분석 결과 우리나라의 경우 환율의 변동이 경상수지를 조정하고 있다는 근거를 찾지 못했다. 그 원인중 첫 번째는 환율의 변동폭보다 물가의 변동률이 상대적으로 더 크기 때문이다. 이는 과대한 통화공급에 의한 결과로 볼 수 있다. 두 번째는 자본자유화에 따른 자본수지의 흑자현상이다. 이는 자본수지의 흑자가 환율의 변동폭을 증가시킨 결과로 볼 수 있다. 세 번째는 일본에 대한 무역적자의 심화현상이다. 이의 시정을 위해 환율조정과 정책협조를 시행하고 있지만, 환율조정과 정책협조만으로 이와 같은 불균형을 개선할 수 없다는 것이다. 따라서 보다 현명한 구조조정에 의해서만이 이러한 불균형을 개선할 수 있다고 판단하여 새로운 경상수지방정식을 구축하여 제시하였다.
