This paper aims to search for the possibiliy of a new civilization particularly in Donghak through understanding the ‘Singularity’ which is so called a great inflection point of human civilization. Since many scientists discern the impending Singularity and furthermore the whole range of our life will be irreversibly transformed due to its deep impact, a serious discussion of the ‘Singularity’ is needed. Singularitarians view most of the intelligence of our civilization will ultimately be nonbiological. However, since even the nonbiological intelligence will be derived from biological design, according to them, our civilization will remain human―indeed, in many ways it will be more exemplary of what we regard as human than it is today, although our understanding of humanity will move beyond its biological origins. To truly understand the Singularity inherently changes one’s view of life and one’s attitude toward life and therefore improves the ability to cope with this epoch. Since artificial intelligence signifies the very importation of collective consciousness of mankind, an ethical issue of artificial intelligence is, to be accurate, an ethical issue of human being itself. Donghak’s Consilient thinking system enables us to solve fundamentally the dilemma of the ethics of artificial intelligence by providing impetus to maximize publicness. Donghak’s ‘hucheon-gaebyuk’ is ‘dasi-gaebyuk’ creating a new heaven and earth by way of the dialectic synthesis of spiritual/social gaebyuk, heaven and earth gaebyuk, leads us to the road to neohumanism, to a new civilization.

본 연구는 인류 문명의 대변곡점을 지칭하는 ‘특이점’에 대한 이해를 통하여 새로운 문명의 가능성을 특히 동학에서 모색하기 위한 것이다. 많은 과학자들에 의해 특이점이 임박한 것으로 판단되고 있고 또한 그것이 우리 삶의 전 영역에 되돌릴 수 없는 변화를 가져올 것으로 예상되기 때문에 특이점에 대한 진지한 논의가 필요하다. ‘특이점주의자’들은 미래 문명의 지능 대부분이 결국에는 비생물학적인 형태가 될 것이라고 본다. 그러나 비생물학적인 지능은 생물학적 설계에서 파생되어 나올 것이기 때문에 인간성에 대한 이해가 생물학적인 기원을 넘어서긴 하겠지만 여러 가지 면에서 미래 문명은 현재보다 더 인간적인 전형이 될 것이라고 본다. 특이점을 완전히 이해하면 인생관이나 삶의 태도가 본질적으로 바뀌기 때문에 이 시기에 대한 대처능력을 증대시킬 수 있다. 인공지능은 인류의 집합의식이 이입된 것이기 때문에 정확히 말하자면 인공지능 윤리 문제는 인간 자체의 윤리 문제다. 동학의 통섭적 사유체계는 공공성을 극대화할 수 있는 추동력을 제공함으로써 인공지능 윤리의 딜레마를 근원적으로 해소할 수 있게 한다. 동학의 후천개벽은 정신개벽과 사회개벽 그리고 천지개벽이 변증법적 통합을 이루어 새 하늘과 새 땅을 창조하는 ‘다시개벽’으로 새로운 휴머니즘의 길, 신문명의 길을 제시한다.
