This paper investigates the effect of environmental conditions on the association between entrepreneurship and international performance in Korean Ventures. Drawing upon a sample of 281 internationalized Korean Venture Business, it presents evidence related to mainly contingency and configurational effects of international and domestic environments. The Key conclusion from the evidence si that uncertainty of domestic country plays significant role, positively moderating the entrepreneurship - international performance relationship. This finding stresses the importance of the environmental determinism view suggesting that the alignment of entrepreneurship with domestic environmental conditions enhances international performance. It also suggests that domestic country risk reduction polices may not be implemented since these can lower performance aborad for entrepreneurial activities.

본 연구는 벤처기업의 해외진출에 있어 기업가정신의 중요성을 부각시키고, 기업가정신과 해외진출성과 간 관계에 있어 국내외 환경요인(environmental conditions)의 영향력을 검증해 보고자 하는데 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 281개 해외진출 한국 벤처기업의 표본을 이용하여 실증분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 주요한 연구결과는 환경 불확실성, 특히 국내 환경의 불확실성이 기업가정신과 벤처기업의 해외진출성과에 긍정적인 조절효과를 보여준다는 것이다. 이러한 결과는 기업가정신을 발현시키는 주요요인이 기존에 제시되던 개인 및 조직적 특성 이외에 환경적 요인도 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있다는 것이다. 이러한 연구결과의 시사점으로 정부정책입장에서는 중소벤처기업의 경영활로 개선을 위한 국내 경영위험요인을 감소시키는 일련의 정책들이 결국 벤처기업의 자생적 의지와 기업가 정신 발휘를 저해하여 벤처기업의 기업성장조건을 저해할 수도 있다는 측면을 제고해 보아야 한다는 것이다.
