This study is to analyze recognition of the Korean Chinese on South Korea’s Unification Public Diplomacy toward China. The Survey was carried out in Yanbian autonomous province where Korean Chinese are living. The results are as follows. First, Korean Chinese have many negative responses about the impact and evaluation of South Korea’s Unification Public Diplomacy toward China. Second, Korean Chinese perceive as obstacles promoting South Korea’s Unification Public Diplomacy of North Korea’s closure policy. Third, Korean Chinese focus areas are seen as a reunification of Korea's public diplomacy induced changes in stability and peace in North East Asia. Korean Chinese also think that economic reform and open of North Korea is important. Lastly, South Korea should have a program to eliminate the negative perspective with Korean Chinese on South Korea’s Unification Public Diplomacy toward China.

이 연구는 한국의 대 중국 통일공공외교에 대해 연변조선족들이 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 연변조선족자치주에 거주하고 있는 조선족들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 연변조선족들은 한국의 대 중국 통일공공외교의 영향 및 평가에 대해 부정적인 응답이 많았다. 둘째, 연변조선족들은 북한의 폐쇄정책이 한국의 통일공공외교 추진의 장애 요인으로 인식하고 있다. 셋째, 연변조선족들은 한국의 통일공공외교의 중점 분야로 동아시아 의 평화안정과 북한의 변화유도라고 보고 있다. 그리고 북한의 변화를 유도하기 위한 통일공공외교 정책으로는 북한의 개혁개방이 중요하다고 응답했다. 향후 한국정부는 연변조선족들이 갖고 있는 통일공공외교에 대한 부정적 시각을 해소할 수 있는 프로그램을 적극 개발, 운영해야 한다.
