This paper are looking around the Meiji government’s violence in the early Japanese modern state formation through the “Ryukyu disposal ‘official documents” in the “Novel of Ryukyu disposal novel” “Disposal of Ryukyu” can be summarized into the following three stances depicting Japanese modern state formation in which the new approved state, territorial expansion of Japan had been indicated the strong relations with the violence of modern state. First, the “Novel of Ryukyu disposal,” seemed to be adopted around the fourteen ‘official documents’ of Japanese governments, “Ryukyu disposal” of Matsuda Michiyuki. Second the ‘disposal’ process of ‘official documents’ was well exposed to state violence in the Meiji government. Third, Matsuda Mochizuki’s ‘official documents’ had been well described the agents of the state violence in the modern state formation process. Overall, this paper has traced the state violence of early modern state formation in Novel of Ryuku disposal.

본 논문은 『소설 류큐처분』의 ‘류큐처분’ ‘공문서’ 내용을 통해 근대국가 형성 초기에 메이지 정부가 보인 폭력을 중심으로 살펴보았다. ‘류큐처분’은 일본의 새로운 국가 승인, 영토 확장 등 근대국가형성과 밀착되어 나타난 폭력이 작동되고 있음을 묘사한 작품으로 다음 세 가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 『소설류큐처분』은 마쓰다 미치유키의 『류큐처분』중 14군데 ‘류큐처분’ 과정, 마쓰다미치유키 인물 관련, ‘류큐’조정의 입장 등의 ‘공문서’ 내용을 가져왔음을 알 수있다. 둘째, ‘처분’ 과정 ‘공문서’를 통해서는 근대국가 형성 과정에 있어 메이지정부의 폭력 과정을 드러내고 있었다. 셋째, 마쓰다 미치유키 인물 관련 ‘공문서’에는 근대국가 형성 과정에 보이는 국가 폭력의 대리인으로 묘사되어 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 등장인물 이지치 마사카와 대비시켜 문화적 이해의 중요성을강조하고 있었다. 이는 ‘류큐처분’ 이후 현재 ‘오키나와’ 민족의 정체성문제를강조하기 위한 작가 오시로 다쓰히로의 의도적 설정이라 하겠다. 다시 말해 작가 오시로 다쓰히로는 마쓰다 미치유키의 『류큐처분』‘공문서’ 인용하여 근대국가 행정체계의 완성, 근대국가 형성과정에 보이는 국가 폭력, 폭력에 저항하는 ‘류큐’ 조정의 모습을 담아 낸 작품이 『소설 류큐처분』이라 하겠다.
