The purpose of this study was to examine direct and indirect effect ofcharacteristic and embeddedness of farmers on participation of local food production. For this purpose, this study used literature review and questionnaire survey. To examinethe characteristic and embeddedness of farmers who were taking part in the direct salesstore of local food, existing literatures was analyzed and a questionnaire survey wascarried out. Bionomial logit analysis and path analysis were used for data analysis. Basedon data analysis, study findings and policy implications are as follows: From a socialperspective, it is necessary to select participating farmers properly, carry out trainingprograms for farmers, and establish training programs for urban farmers and consumers. From an environment perspective, it is necessary to establish certification system of farmproducts and brands. From an economical perspective, it is necessary to establishtransportation system of farm products, to compensate for native seeds and to expandschool meals. From a governance perspective, it is necessary to establish the supplysystem of farming workforce and reinforce its public relations, and to establishprivate-public joint governance and voluntary works system.

이 연구의 목적은 농업인 특성과 배태성이 로컬푸드 참여에 미치는 직접적, 간접적인 영향을 종합적으로 분석하고 로컬푸드 활성화를 위한 정책적 함의를 찾는 것이다. 연구방법은 문헌연구와 설문조사를 사용하였다. 설문조사는 평택시와 완주군의 로컬푸드 직매장에 참여하는 농업인을 대상으로 하였고, 비교 분석을 위해 같은 지역에 거주하는 로컬푸드에 참여하지 않는 농업인도 조사하였다. 농업인 특성과 배태성이 로컬푸드 참여에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해서 기술통계, 로지스틱 회귀분석, 경로분석을 실시했다. 분석결과가 시사하는 정책적 함의는 다음과 같다. 사회적 측면에서는 참여농업인 적정 대상자를 선정하는 과정, 농업인 교육, 도시농부와 소비자 교육이 필요하며, 환경적 측면에서는 농산물 인증제도와 브랜드 제도의 정착이 필요하다. 또, 경제적 측면에서는 농산물 운송체계 구축, 토종 종자 활용에 대한 보상, 학교급식 확대가 필요하며, 거버넌스 측면에서는 농사인력 공급 시스템 구축과 홍보 강화, 민관 거버넌스 구축, 봉사활동 시스템 구축이 필요함을 시사한다.
