This paper tries to compare dances of Korea and other countries shown in the biographies of foreign countries of official Chinese history with each other. As for the records of dances shown in the biographies of foreign countries of official Chinese history, the expressions that people enjoyed drinking, singing, and dancing are shown in customs about ‘Pasunman(板循蠻)’, ‘Buguk(附國)’, ‘Sapaguk(闍婆國)’, and ‘Gangguk(康國)’ as well as Korean custom. There are the records that people enjoyed songs and dances in festivals, weddings, and funerals in some other countries. The result of the comparative analysis can be found that all the countries did not enjoy dances and songs and particular countries and races did them. Another important point is that the custom of dancing and singing is applicable to a country and race in many areas but it was widely shown in Buyeo, Goguryeo, Ye, Mahan, Byeonjin, and Jinhan. The article that all the countries and races enjoy singing and dancing was just recorded in Dongyi. And so when you think about that, Dongyi's custom called 'drinking, singing, and dancing' could be found to be regarded as a unique phenomenon in the biographies of foreign countries of official Chinese history and be a unique custom widely shown in the special area called Dongyi.

본 논문은 중국 정사 외국열전에 나타난 우리나라 춤과 다른 나라의 춤을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 중국 정사 외국열전에 나타난 춤의 기록을 살펴보면 음주가무를 즐겼다는 표현이 우리나라의 풍속에서만 언급된 것이 아니라판순만(板循蠻)과 부국(附國), 사파국(闍婆國), 강국(康國)에 대한 풍속에서도 등장하고 있다. 다른 일부 국가에서는축제와 결혼, 장례 행사에서 노래와 춤을 즐겼다는 기록이 나와 있다. 비교 분석 결과 모든 나라가 춤과 노래를즐긴 것이 아니라 특정한 나라와 민족이 춤과 노래를 즐겼음을 알 수 있다. 또 하나의 중요한 점은 춤과 노래를즐긴 풍습이 여러 지역에서 특정 한 국가, 한 민족에 해당되는 데 반해, 우리나라에서는 부여, 고구려, 예, 마한, 변진, 진한에 걸쳐 광범위하게 나타난 현상이라는 것이다. 모든 국가와 민족이 ‘노래와 춤을 즐겼다’는 기사는 유일하게 동이에서만 기록되었다. 이렇게 본다면 ‘음주가무(飮酒歌舞)’라는 동이의 풍습은 중국 정사 외국열전에서독특한 현상으로 보았을 뿐만 아니라, 동이라는 특정 지역에 광범위하게 나타난 고유한 풍습임을 알 수 있다.
