The objective of the study is to identify challenges and tasks of Taekwondo convergence performance. For this, 2 producers, 2 actors and 2 spectators of Taekwondo convergence performance were selected for in-depth interviews, and the result is as follows: First, from the producers’ perspective, it was revealed that institutional conditions and acting training programs for producing Taekwondo stars are necessary to introduce various stage settings. Second, from the actors’ viewpoint, it is required to provide prior training for improving understanding of convergence techniques and nurture Taekwondo-specialized experts. Third, from the viewpoint of audience, it is necessary to develop performances that can highlight artistic values of Taekwondo, choose easy performance topics and vitalize performance in small theaters. In the future, it is expected that Taekwondo convergence performance will be completed through an exquisite balance between technical and artistic aspects. In order for Taekwondo convergence performance to position itself as a kind of Korean cultural and artistic contents and Korean Wave for enhancing national prestige, active interest and support by the government and related organizations are required.

이 연구는 태권도 융복합 공연의 도전과 과제를 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있었다. 이에 따라 태권도 융복합 공연의 제작자 2인, 배우 2인, 관객 2인을 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하였고, 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 제작자의 관점에서 태권도 융복합 공연의 도전과 과제는 다양한 무대장치의 도입이 가능하도록 제도적인 여건 마련과 태권도 스 타배출을 위한 연기수업 프로그램이 필요하다고 나타났다. 둘째, 배우의 관점에서 태권도 융복합 공연의 도전과 과제는 배우들이 융복합 기술을 이해할 수 있도록 사전교육이 이루어져야 하고, 태권도 전문 연출가가 요구된다고 한다. 셋째, 관객의 관점에서 태권도 융복합 공연의 도전과 과제는 태권도의 예술적 가치를 부각시킬 수 있는 퍼포먼스로 발전하는 것과 공연의 주제를 쉬운 소재로 선정하고, 소극장 공연이 활성화되어야 한다고 나타났다. 앞으로 태권도 융복합 공연의 발전은 기술적인 측면과 예술적인 측면의 절묘한 조화로 인해 완성될 것으로 전망된다. 태권도 융복합 공연이 한국의 문화예술콘텐츠 및 국위선양을 위한 한류문화로 자리매김하기 위해서는 정부와 관련기관의 적극적인 관심과 지원이 요 구되는 시점이라고 생각된다.
