This study which is based on qualitative research method, especially in-depth interviews, in order to investigate the way of Taekwondo Poomsae for national sport competition adoption, led to a conclusion as below: First, Taekwondo Poomsae matches must be involved in official events of national sport competitions. The position of Taekwondo Poomsae matches has been threatened due to the adoption of Karate ‘Kata’ and ‘Kumite’ as demonstration sport and official event in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games so that Poomsae must be adopted as an official event of national sport competition which will even lead to the adoption as the one of the Olympic Games. Second, Taekwondo Poomsae has been strengthening its position via the adoption as an official event of Asian Poomsae competition, the International Poomsae competition, the summer Universiade, and the Asian Games, so it must also be involved in official events of national sport competitions in order to accelerate its sophisticated development. Third, there is a desperate need for related-organizations’ proactive and mutually cooperative efforts aiming for the adoption of Taekwondo Poomsae. Forth, we have to acknowledge the strength and expectancy effects derived from the adoption of Taekwondo Poomsae as an official event of national sport competitions.

이 연구는 태권도 품새 경기의 전국체육대회 정식종목 채택을 위한 탐색을 위해 질적 연구로서 심층면접 방법을 사용하여 연구를 진행한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 태권도 품새 경기는 전국체육대회 정식종목에 꼭 포함되어야 한다. 2020년 도쿄(Tokyo)올림픽에 가라데 ‘카타’와 ‘쿠미테’까지 각각 시범종목 및 정식종목으로 채택되 면서 태권도 품새 경기가 위협받고 있으므로 올림픽 정식종목까지 염두하고 발 빠르게 대처하기 위해서라도 전국체육 대회에 품새가 정식종목으로 채택되어야 한다. 둘째, 태권도 품새는 아시아품새선수권대회, 세계품새선수권대회, 하계 유니버시아드대회 및 아시안게임의 정식종목으로 이미 세계적인 종목으로서 그 자리를 확고히 해 나가고 있어 국내에 서도 세계적으로 발돋움해 나가는 품새의 전국체육대회 정식종목 채택을 통한 차원 높은 발전이 필요하다. 셋째, 태권도 품새의 전국체육대회 정식종목 채택을 위해 유관 단체들의 적극적․상호 협력적 노력이 절실히 필요하다. 넷째, 태권도 품새의 전국체육대회 정식종목 채택으로 인한 장점 및 기대효과를 인식해야 한다.
