The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of after-school child care services on the academic and psycho-social adjustment of children from multicultural families in Korea. Data were analyzed using independent samples t-test and multiple regression analysis in SPSS 21.0. Analysis data were collected from 827 elementary school students from Jangsu-gun county, Jeollabuk-do province, South Korea. The results are as follows; first, the adjustment average score of children from multicultural families was a little lower than the average score of children from non-multicultural families, but the difference was not statistically significant. Second, in the case of children from multicultural families, peer relationships affected their adjustment, while, in the case of children from non-multicultural families, peer relationships and the physical conditions of local social-service facilities affected their adjustment. When all children in the sample were analyzed as one group, regardless of family background, peer relationships and facility conditions affected their adjustment. In conclusion, the study suggests that after-school child care services should provide programs that increase the positive peer relationships among children, and improve their facility environments in order to promote higher adjustment levels among children from multicultural families as well as those from non-multicultural families.

본 연구는 방과후 돌봄서비스 만족도 관련 요인이 다문화가정 아동의 적응에 미치는 영향을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 다문화가정 아동과 비다문화가정 아동을 조사 대상으로 선정하였으며, 방과후 돌봄서비스 만족도 요인은 시설 및 교사관계 영역과 생활영역으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 자료수집을 위해 전라북도 장수군내 초등학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이 중 827명의 설문지를 분석 자료로 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 독립표본 t-검정과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구문제는 첫째, 다문화가정과 비다문화가정 아동의 적응에 차이가 있는가? 둘째, 다문화가정 아동의 적응에 영향을 미치는 방과후 돌봄서비스 만족도 요인은 무엇인가? 또한 비다문화가정 및 모든 아동의 적응에 영향을 미치는 방과후 돌봄서비스 만족도 요인은 무엇인가?이다. 첫 번째 연구문제와 관련하여 독립표본 t-검정을 실시하였으며, 이를 통해 다문화가정 아동과 비다문화가정 아동의 적응 평균을 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 비다문화가정 아동의 적응 평균이 다문화가정 아동보다 약간 높게 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의미하지는 않았다. 둘째 연구문제는 다중회귀분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 다문화가정 아동의 적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인은 생활영역의 또래관계 변수인 것으로 나타났으며, 비다문화가정 아동의 적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 시설 및 교사관계 영역의 시설환경과 생활영역의 또래관계인 것으로 확인되었다. 다문화가정과 비다문화가정 모두를 대상으로 한 분석에서도 시설환경과 또래관계가 유의미한 요인으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 다문화가정 아동과 비다문화가정 아동의 적응을 높이기 위해 방과후 돌봄 기관의 적절한 환경개선과 방과후 돌봄서비스 내 또래관계 증진 프로그램이 강조되어야 함을 제안하였다.
