The group homes in South Korea, which began from 2008, get into the beginning stage by forming a social consensus of needs of group homes environments. This study is to evaluate the floor plan characteristics of the group homes in Gyeongsang-do area to suggest future plan directions. Eight samples of Gyeongsang-do area are chosen to analyse the features of floor plans and space compositions. Study results showed that space compositions and operational methods of the samples have no consistency. One side corridor, double-loaded corridor, and living room-centered housing are shown as floor plan features, and the characteristics of interior space compositions are determined by whether residents positively participated or not. The use of spaces are divided by gender and health conditions of residents, therefore, it is shown that the environments for the protections of the residents privacies are needed. It is also suggested that the considerations of space compositions according to residents' sex, age, and health conditions should be considered, the living room-centered floor plan is necessary to have housing-oriented environments, and a small unit over 5 persons and the use of residents-oriented public spaces should be considered.

우리나라 노인공동생활가정은 가정의 연장선상에서 거주환경이 필요하다는 사회적 공감대가 형성되면서 2008년부터 시설되기 시작하여 이제 초기단계에 접어들고 있다. 본 연구에서는 노인공동생활가정의 평면적 특성을 분석한 후 앞으로의 계획 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구를 위하여 경상도지역 8개 가정을 표본대상으로 선정하여, 현장조사를 통한 평면분석과 각 가정의 공간구성의 특징에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과 표본대상 가정의 공간 구성과 운영방식이 일관되지 못한 것으로 분석되었다. 평면적 특징으로는 편복도형, 중복도형, 거실 중심형이 많았으며, 실내 공간 구성의 성격은 거주인의 적극적 참여 유무에 따라 정해지는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 거주인의 성별, 건강상태 등에 따라 공간이 구획되고, 거주인의 사생활이 보호되는 환경이 필요한 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 거주인의 성별, 연령, 건강 조건에 따른 공간 구성의 배려가 필요하고, 가정과 같은 환경을 갖기 위해서는 거실을 중심으로 한 계획이 되어야 하며, 5명 이상의 단체 생활을 위해서는 거실중심형의 소단위 유닛을 공적영역으로 연결한 계획이 고려되어야 할 것이며, 입주자 중심의 공적 영역의 활용을 고려하여 계획되어야 한다고 제안하였다.
