Jinhae Bay is a typical semi-enclosed seas, located in the central and eastern of southern coastal marine. Traditionally, this place was famous for spawning fishery, the various forms currently are prevalent. In particular, since the 1960s, industrialization, urbanization, population growth has been accelerating, shellfish form has been activated since 1970. Therefore eutrophication of water and sediments by internal and external factors that were carried out rapidly. In addition to its effects, hypoxic conditions in the bottom water layer was caused by seasonal. This will cause the deterioration of the benthic ecosystem, when a longer duration. This problem remains even today one of the issues. So the research and development of technology to solve them are being tried. As part of its contents, this study examines the history and impact on the various aspects of the literature related to hypoxia occurred in Jinhae Bay from 1960 until recently. And we expect the results to be utilized to elucidate the causes and mechanisms of hypoxia formation.
