이 연구는 경찰 휴양시설의 현황과 운영상의 문제점을 파악하고 이에 대한 대안으로 향 후 경찰 휴양시설 바우처 제도 도입을 제안하였다. 이는 경찰관의 직무만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 경찰조직의 성과를 향상시키기 요인으로 작용할 수 있기 때문이다. 경찰 휴양시설은 직무교육 및 훈련 기능, 직무 수행과정에서의 스트레스 완화 및 정서적 상처 치유 등 다양한 기능을 가진 복합시설로 개발되어야 함에도 불구하고, 현재는 해안지 역의 숙박기능만을 담당하고 있는 상황이다. 이와 관련하여 이 연구에서는 새로운 휴양시설 의 건립과 운영이 아닌, 기존 해안 및 내륙 등에 입지한 콘도 및 휴양시설 등과의 연계를 기반으로 한 경찰 휴양시설 바우처 도입에 대한 타당성을 제시하였다. 이 과정에서 주거지 원과 관련한 주거 바우처 제도에 관해 살펴보았으며, 현재 운영 중인 경찰 휴양시설의 재산 가치에 대하여도 평가해 보았다. 이 연구 성과를 토대로 경찰 휴양시설의 효율적 운용제도 가 점차 확립되어지길 기대한다.
