Since our nation had the 9th special agreement on the budget of the United states Forces Korea(U.S.F.K) in 1991 with the United States(US), about 1 trillion won has been paid for the contribution. there are concerns that this scale of budget may cause problems in standards of rational decision making, diversion of budget, transparency of budget execution and domestic public opinion reaching to the undermining the congruence of alliance in the end. In this circumstances. this research analysed the fact using the data of the present status of contribution to the budget of the USFK and other factors. The aim of this research is to find the validity of contribution to the budget of the USFK which has been continually risen since 1991 by analysing the correlation between variables in various dimensions.

우리나라는 1991년 이후 미국과 제 9차 방위분담 특별협정을 맺음으로써 1조원에 가까운 방위비 분담금을 지불하고 있다. 이러한 규모의 분담액은 합리적 결정기준과 예산적용문제, 예산집행의 투명성, 국내여론 약화 등으로 동맹정신을 저하시킬 수 있다는 우려도 제기되고 있다이러한 상황에서 본 연구는 방위비 분담금 지급현황과 각종 요인들을 실증자료로 구축하여 방위비 분담금과 관련된 상관관계를 분석하였다. 1991년 이후 계속적인 증액을 거듭해 오는 방위비 분담금과 경제적 상황 등의 공급적 요인과 주한미군, 북한의 도발건수 등의 수요적 요인과 국가예산 중 복지예산의 비율 등을 기타 환경요인과의 상관관계와 영향력 정도를 분석하여 주요한 요인들을 찾아내고, 분담금 규모에 대한 적정성을 찾고자 한다.
