The Bible translation can be comparable with the synthetic art. The Bible translation must be faithful to the author, simultaneously it must be understandable by the modern readers. For this reason, the method of dynamic equivalent as well as the literal translation are necessary. The translation which is not responsible to the author easily can become a treason. The Bible translation into Korean has been developed according to the temporal necessity. The general assemblies of several denominations in Korea has determined to use 'New Korean Revised Version' in public worship. So, can we use the version with comfortable mind? In this paper, a comparison between 'New Korean Revised Version' and 'Korean Truthful Version' will be done and a better translation will be suggested by focusing on some verses in the book of Revelation. When the meaning needs to be clear, popular English versions, NIV and ESV, are referred. Through this study, a more accurate translation will be suggested in terms of gender, number, case, preposition, word order, conjunction, divine passive, the confusion of article and personal pronoun, indicative pronoun, the division of chapter and verse, imperative, consistent translation of the same expression, the omitted words in translation or unnecessary insert of expression, honorific expression, over-dynamic translation, doctrinal problem, translation of some specific words, and transliteration.

성경 번역은 복잡한 ‘종합 예술’에 비유될 만하다. 성경번역은 저자 에 충실해야 하며, 동시에, 현대 독자가 이해 할 수 있어야 한다. 이 이유로 문자적 번역도 중요하지만, 역동적인 등가 번역도 필요하 다. 저자에게 충실하지 못한 번역은 자칫 ‘반역’도 ()_필요를 따라 총회 차원에서 결정한 바가 있다. 그렇다면 우리는 개역개정판을 안 심하고 사용할 수 있는가? 이 글에서는 ‘바른 성경’과 ‘개역개정판’ 을 계시록의 주요 구절들을 중심으로 비교하고, 더 나은 번역을 위 해서 제안하고자 한다. 의미를 분명히 할 필요가 있을 때, 대중적으 로 사용되는 영어성경인 NIV와 ESV도 참고할 것이다. 이 연구를 통해서, 성, 수, 격, 전치사, 단어 순서, 접속사, 신적수동태, 정관사와 인칭대명사의 혼용, 지시대명사, 장과 절의 구분, 명령형, 동일한 표현에 대한 번역의 일관성, 번역되지 않거나 불필요하게 추가된 번역, 존칭어, 지나친 의역, 교리 상의 문제, 특정 단어의 번역, 음역 등과 관련하여 더 정확한 번역을 제안하고자 한다.
