This study aims to analyze the trends of domestic studies on workplace violence so as to present the future research direction. Towards that end, 79 studies were selected to analyze their research time, methodology, levels, targets of research, and suggestions. The selected studies were classified into quantitative research, qualitative research and literary research according to methodologies and levels. Quantitative research was classified into descriptive level and explanatory level. Research themes and research targets were classified into quantitative research and qualitative research. Research on workplace violence began in 1994. There are 45 theses published in journals, four reports, and 30 dissertations for earning degrees. In terms of methodologies and levels, there were 63 quantitative studies, seven qualitative studies, and nine literary studies. Research themes included emotional reaction after experiencing violence, attitude about violence, job satisfaction, and intention to quit the current job for another. Factors impacting the client violence included individuals' characteristics and working environment. The most workplace violence types, handled in studies, included physical, language and sexual violence. Research targets included diverse territories, violence fields, and jobs of subjects.

본 연구는 직장 폭력에 관한 국내 연구의 동향을 분석하여 앞으로의 연구방향을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 지금까지 발표된 79편의 연구를 선정하여 연구시기, 연구방법 및 수준, 직장 폭력 유형, 연구대상, 제언 등을 대상으로 메타분석을 하였다. 대상 연구들은 연구방법과 수준에 따라 양적연구, 질적연구, 문헌연구로 나누고, 이를 다시 양적연구는 기술적 수준과 설명적 수준의 연구로 나누어 분석하였다. 연구주제와 연구대상은 양적연구와 질적연구로 나누어 분석하였다. 직장 폭력 관련 연구는 1994년에 시작되었으며 학술지 논문 45편, 보고서 4편, 학위논문이 30편이 있다. 연구방법 및 수준은 양적연구가 63편, 질적연구가 7편, 문헌연구가 9편이 있다. 연구주제는 폭력 경험 후 정서적 반응, 폭력에 대한 태도, 직무만족, 이직의도 등이며 직장 폭력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 가해자 요인이 가장 많았다. 직장 폭력의 유형은 신체와 언어, 성 폭력에 대한 연구가 많았다. 연구대상은 지역과 폭력현장, 연구대상자의 직종이 다양하였다. 제언은 교육ㆍ훈련, 매뉴얼 개발 등 직장 차원이 가장 많았다.
