The purposes of this study are to propose appropriate ways for elderly-friendly community in traditional Markets. For these purposes, we derived applicable elderly-friendly community facilities via questionnaire and surveyed the barrier-free design characteristics of three traditional markets in the Yesan area. The results are as follows ; First, traditional market is a place for communication, culture, and exchanging items for living in local area, so it should be established as elderly-friendly traditional market. Second, some community facilities should be re-located around traditional markets for elderly-friendly society in local area. Third, physical conditions of traditional markets should be refurbished according to guidelines of Barrier-Free(BF) Certification Standards.

본 연구는 고령친화 전통시장 조성을 위한 커뮤니티환경 개선 방안 모색을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 예산 지역 3개 전통시장에 적용가능한 고령친화 전통시장 커뮤니티시설을 도출하였다. 더불어 고령친화 커뮤니티환경 조성 수준을 분석하고, 개선방안을 제시하였다. 첫째, 고령친화 전통시장은 고령자의 행동 특성을 고려해야 한다. 둘째, 전통시장별로 요구하는 고령친화 전통시장 커뮤니티시설이 다르다. 셋째, 고령친화 전통시장 커뮤니티환경 조성을 위해서는 장애물 없는 생활환경(BF) 인증기준을 고려할 필요성이 있다.
